I expect the Jackets to come out spitting nails tonight, still pissed off at the game they had stolen from them. I predict a physical, hard fought victory.

"We didn't push hard enough from the opening draw which we talked about. … We're not earning our goals. That's not the success we've had and it's not the way we're going to play.I guarantee you they'll understand that in the next couple of days.' -Kevin Dineen

Meanwhile, Todd Richards said he wasn't concerned about the 4 game skid and we seem to be all about taking positives. Will be interesting to see how CBJ and FLA do this week, both trying to right the ship and stop a slide, clearly with different attitudes about it.

Anyway, go Jackets. Anismov will score tonight.

No way that Umberger and Dorsett would/should be a first line pairing. There are a good third line pairing. Have Anisimov play with someone who can put the puck in the net!

Man, these every other day game day threads are wearing me out-48 in 99 days. Phew!

Hopefully the Jackets put 60 minutes of solid hockey together and grab the 2 points.

And FFS why is Savard up here instead of playing in Springfield? 6th game and he still hasn't played?

The order I have them listed is not an indication of what lines are what pairings. That is just the order that they run in the morning skate. Other then the 4th line. They were reported as the second grouping, but I moved them to the bottom.

"@RobMixer #CBJ lines this morning: 18-42-15, 9-10-40, 71-19-22, 11-17-16. Defense pairs remain the same."

"@RobMixer Those are in no particular order, just as they take rushes. #CBJ"

There really is not a first line there. If I had to order them 1-4 here is how I would list it.

Well, the best way to teach Dorsett that he cannot take a critical penalty in a late game situation, especially if he is a captain, is to....put him on the first line? :help:

Not meant as a criticism Howey, just expressing frustration of playing these two too high in the lineup all season so far.

What is pretty funny is that Dorse is alone in second place in team scoring and RJ, somehow, has manged to become the only plus player on this team. The latter is all the more amusing considering he has one point this season.

Most of Dorsett's points have been secondary assists. He hasn't been manufacturing offense like Johansen (wins faceoffs, good passing), Atkinson (speed, shot), Foligno (physicality, deflections), Anisimov (shot, stick handling), and Calvert (speed, possession).

I said it was funny, not that it was relevant. It was more of an irony comment. Having said that, Dorse has made a few outstanding passes this year. I find it hilarious you just responded with skill players in comparison of Dorse.

Look, Dorse is better than most out here make him to be. Is he top six? No. But instead of ripping on him, rip on Richards. I don't get Richards. Between that and his silly lineups for the fist shoot out. I don't know what he is trying to do.

The "second assist" comment does nothing for me. You are still on the ice and helped start the play. The second assist argument is just there to give people a chance to rip on players they don't like.

Dorsett is a net negative for the team and the fact that he wears an "A" is a sign that this team isn't ready to be major league. He runs his mouth too much. He takes dumb penalties at the stupidest times. He tries too hard to pester and provoke.

We don't need guys who are annoying and yap their mouths off. We need guys of substance and hockey skill. Dorsett is all bark and no bite just like a small, yappy dog.

It's a legitimate point that he doesn't manufacture offense but simply soaks in points passively like a sponge due to his unsightly TOI. Watch Atkinson's goal against Detroit and you'll see that all Dorsett did was hand the puck off to Johansen in our own zone. It was all Johansen and Atkinson who turned that play into a goal.

I do not find your analysis accurate. I agree that he should temper his game, but I don't find it to be a net negative.

You are still trying to compare Dorse to Johansen or Atkinson in the offensive zone? Why? No kidding he isn't the same offensive player they are. My point still stands, however. You are pointing at the wrong person. Get on Richards for role.

Having said that, my eyes still glaze over when people start talking about second assists. I don't find it to even be a talking point.

I'm ok with Dorsett.

Plus he is the leader off the ice of many of the kids (guess I shouldn't call them the kids anymore). But I know the playoff year when alot of those guys hung out together, lived close to one another, etc that Dorsett was the leader of the group. Only point here is that guys follow him and want to be around him. Nope doesn't mean he's ever going to a 25 goal scorer or the best player, just means he's one of the leaders.

Just posting this for historical purposes. Thought it was interesting to note, one year ago today this was the scene outside Nationwide Arena. The F.A.N.S. protest asking for the removal of President Mike Priest and GM Scott Howson, Janurary 28th 2012. 350 strong. Man how time flies . . . .

That's exactly who I blame. I agree with everything you've said in the excerpt above.

One more note. I just want to say that none of that was possible without HF. My thanks to the entire HF community. Whether we agree or disagree, plenty of great hockey minds on here and always a fun place to come together.

Had to trade my tickets for tonights game for a game in April since my wife has the flu, and I can't find anyone else that wants to go.

Therefore, I will be watching this one from home tonight.

My gut feeling is that the CBJ get their first home win of the season. No score prediction.

why are the Blue Jackets scratching David Savard instead of sending him down? They should either be rotating the 7th guy in every couple games or bring someone else up like holden and let savard play some actual games

Is it sad that all I'm hoping for is a good hustle, quality offensive rushes, and not giving away dumb penalties in the first 5 minutes of the first period.

I might be happy with that.
