But given early returns, we could see a debate of who is the last defenseman (and essentially the final player) McNabb or Forbort?

Just look at ice time to see who the Kings think more highly of. They are approximately the same age, so thats not big of an issue. McNabb gets much higher ice team in more crucial situations.

What's with everyone saying Brown had a great game? Didn't anyone see the pass he flubbed, which resulted in him taking a penalty, which resulted in the PP goal for CBJ? Ugly....

I thought this exact thing when I read the first page of this thread. Brown had a typical Brown game where he turns the puck over more often than not. That penalty was truly awful.

Everyone's looking past the usual Brown shenanigans because he has set a low bar over the last three years and he's putting up a few points. The "assist" he had last night was passing the puck to Shore in the neutral zone and then getting off the ice. Way to go!

Sutter is the man who inexplicably healthy scratched Pearson at the beginning of the 2014 playoffs, and shoehorned Brown onto Kopitar's line. It was only after we were ready to lose the series did he play Pearson, and put together the Gaborik-Kopitar-Williams line, which rounded out the top six.

Actually it was Gaborik-Kopitar-Brown in 2014. Williams was with King and Stoll on the 3rd line.

Great that Kopitar scored a nice goal last night, but he absolutely put on a clinic out there for all 200 feet offensively and defensively. He completely smothers the opponents along the boards in the defensive zone.

Count yourself lucky to watch Kopitar in his prime.

Yup, I don't think I've ever seen Kopitar be better, and that's saying a lot. He was just playing a different game than anyone on either team last night. He might be the perfect hockey play.

Waiting for Drew to get his game similarly in order.

Kopitar in his prime? But the main board said Kopitar was in the decline after he signed his $80 million contract!

Surely you're joking?

True. I have seen literally half of a game so far this year, just started a new job and working nights, so my opinions are pretty much based on others opinions.

Good effort, need to find a way to get King off of the top line.

Who's a worse top line fit. King in LA or Chaison in Calgary?

I think we are at the point with Dustin Brown where you say, 'Oh, wow, he played hard north/south hockey that shift!' followed by, 'Aw, ****. Dustin Brown with another boneheaded play again.'
