GDT: Game 59: Calgary Flames at Los Angeles Kings | Tuesday, Feb 23 2016 - 7:30PM PT

1-4 in the last 5 games at home against the Flames. Including 3 last minute goals against, giving up a 3-0 lead, and another 1-0 3rd period lead. Combine that with this season's odd home record against Pacific teams, where in 6 of the 8 games they've given up at least 3 goals. First game back after a long road trip.

That's almost too many things going against them. I think the Kings will pull this one out.

Surprised to see Kopitar might be playing again. I had mentally prep'd for a couple weeks of Carter on the top line.

Maybe the term "legend" is a stretch (it's called marketing), but I'm all for honoring past players. No harm in doing it. He was one of the guys I associate with our most successful team outside of the current group.

Makes the old guys feel special. It is good PR that the Kings and (by extension) their fans remember the "other" guys on the team. Shows that playing in LA is not a forgotten realm. It is not like the are retiring his jersey. It's a gift and a puck drop and a video.

That's what I was saying. The term "legend" comes from marketing. Sounds a lot better than "Former LA Kings Night". Like onlyalad said, honoring a past player is great for the fans and the team.

Legend in no way requires any amount of time... Just notoriety.

I am not a big hockey history guy, and not even familiar with his career... But being a legend doesn't require more then one act that makes you noteworthy, and could be as little as a single instance...

For a while, Donnelly, Millen and Zhitnik were the only 3 players that could skate the puck into the zone - at ES or PP!

All 3 are still legends in my book.
