That play is exactly why Bolduc needs better linemates. Good forecheck by Faksa, good pass by Bolduc, good pass by Faksa, no finish by Joseph (what else is new?) Good play, but the stats don't tell the story.

Great dominating First Period by The Blues. The had smothering forechecking and a buzzing defensive zone play, and good Neutral Zone checking and positioning, and fast breakouts. It's looked like the best played 1st Period by The Blues so far this season. They dominated possession, and outshot The Kraken, 14-4. I wonder if this might become a "schedule win", because The Kraken are tired. Did they play last night, and also are on the tail end of a long cross continental road trip?

Zero chance. We are either Sellers or we stand pat.
There's realistically no chance to make The Playoffs. And even IF they would, they'd have no chance to get meaningfully far. So The Blues should trade off Saad, Schenn, and, maybe Buchnevich. I know that would be a crushing blow to the team's players, but they need to realise that this team needs badly to bring young talent in, and their truly competitive playoff window is no sooner than 3 years from now. I was one of the most vociferous for KEEPING Buchnevich, so we'd still have a few quality veterans to give the young kids to play along with some experienced players. But The Blues really need a lot more draft capital to add more quality players AND possibly move up to add a few difference-makers. Also, Veterans leaving would help them lose more games to help assure better lottery picks.

Be a real shame if this was one of those games where we turtle and blow the game.
(is the blue font necessary?)
