Interesting to see ice-times, looks like Todd rolled the top-9 quite equally. Compher actually had more icetime than Larkin.

Very nice to see Kasper leading the forwards in ice-time at 19:00, he fully deserved it.

It's good to see that Debrincat is stepping up lately, especially with the first line not looking too hot 5on5. Hopefully Tarasenko can start potting a few on the 3rd line, i thought they had some good looks but they weren't a 100% gelling either.

This is a great opportunity for Veleno to step up, i don't have too high hopes, but at times he shows flashes.

He was skating really well tonight, looked like a totally different player from earlier in the year. Maybe this is the opportunity he needs to reclaim that 2C spot and run with it.

BLUE JACKETS, RED WINGS WIN AS COUNTDOWN TO THE STADIUM SERIES CONTINUES
The countdown continues to tick away until the Blue Jackets and Red Wings, who each skated to closely-contested victories Tuesday, march into Ohio Stadium for the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on March 1 (6 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN+, Disney+, Sportsnet+, TVA Sports, FX-Canada). The number of days remaining until the Blue Jackets’ outdoor game debut is three, which are the number of seasons since Detroit forward J.T. Compher and Columbus defenseman Jack Johnson won a Stanley Cup together with the 2022 Avalanche.

* Compher and Johnson are two of a dozen Michigan alumni who went on to win the Cup and two of many former Wolverines that could skate for the Blue Jackets or Red Wings on Saturday. My issue with Kasper at 2C is that if he goes with DBC and Kane I don't know if he has the experience yet to cover for that amount of defensive lacking and still contribute offensively. (At least DBC tries...)

Perhaps we could try to keep Ray and Kasper together and let Larks carry Kane/DBC.

DBC-Larkin-Kane
Soderblom/Berg-Kasper-Ray

or even

Soderblom-Larkin-Kane
DBC-Kasper-Ray

I love Ray and Larks together but maybe its time to let our two best offensive players anchor their own lines 5 on 5.

Since the team never tells us, we never know if a player is playing through a nagging injury or not, the 2 week break might be just what JT needed to get better for we all we know...just happy to see him rolling.

Seeing Tank have some flashes the past 10 games or so has been good too, be real nice for the wings if he starts to get rolling too. Todd is trying to get him him engaged, but I really like him on the 3rd line with Elmer and Ras (when he gets back).

I'd just leave that first line alone. It works, and I think we just need something we know works. Hopefully Ras comes back soon and is good to go, and I'd just plug him back in next to Soderblom for the same reason - it was working.

If we're trying different things in that 2C spot, I'd still give Danielson a look there if Compher falls flat again. Even as just a fill-in while we explore the trade market. Danielson doesn't have to drive offense from that spot, and it's already sheltered a bit because Kane isn't exactly a selke nominee.

Pec tendon surgery, out for the season. He's done.

Holy crap. I hadn't heard that. I know people love to hate on Copp but losing a center like him definitely makes the Wings playoff hopes more difficult.

We really need Compher to step up and return to form instead of the dogcrap he looked like before the break. From what little I've seen since the break he seems to be playing well.

I mean, he was concussed VS Tampa earlier this month ... Emil Lilleberg was suspended for the hit, and Compher was on the IR.

How is it possible that you missed that?

Yeah to me this season Copp was the guy who no one notices until he doesn't show up.

"Whaddya mean our salads can't be made?!?!"

"The lettuce guy couldn't make it."

"The hell? "Lettuce guy"? Who's that?"

"The guy who brings the lettuce every day. For the salads."

"Dammit."
