Yah maybe but how is Bowman so disconnected that he doesn’t see this then. Or maybe holding his cards close to his chest, not sure. They better figure this shit out quick though.
Bowman is experienced enough to know, not just in goaltending but in GMing. He knows that if we aren't competitive this year and goaltending is a major reason, then the loss is 100% on the GM. He was asked right to his face if he was looking for a goalie. It's an obvious issue to everyone at this point. If Skinner and Pickard get it done on the way to a Stanley Cup then he'll look smart by keeping them. Cooper redeemed himself with Binnington's clutch performance.

Honestly though, I bet Bowman is quietly looking. He is new here. He wouldn't have any stake in riding it out with our goalies, and wouldnt have any reason to think theyd be clutch. It will be a purely statistical decision with him, and lots of GMs have said that a move isn't coming right before it does

Frankly embarrassing. The Oiler systems are holding pretty well. Substandard decision making, puck management and tendency team wide to slip into complacency. It's a chronic, systemic issue that some people mistake as coaching issue. It's endemic within the players.

No team is going to win 82 games. But my gawd you never have to be outworked. This team chronically is the one that eventually slips in the margins with a mistake. That's a killer against true deep Cup contender level teams.
It was quite irritating watching them turn the puck over in the neutral zone on like 3 consecutive shifts as if they were Charlie Brown and the football.

Would you give Evan Bouchard even 7 million right now ? Be real. 10 million dollars can go to a guy like Byram AND you would still have a couple million plus a few more to add land a solid defensive dman. Its so hard to defend Bouchard... oh the irony...😂

Nope and I also wouldn't give Connor more money than Leon.

He's not a guy that ever looks like he's skating hard, even when he's going top speed.

The easy play was Skinner making what should be a routine stop, the only thing Bouchard is guilty of is trusting in a bad goaltender to do his job.

Maybe he should start.

it'd be a gamble for sure. If he gets back to what he was last year, it's a huge win, if he keeps playing like this, it'd be pretty ugly.

We need better wingers for McDavid an Draisaitl. Bottom 6 needs to pinch on goals more. Defense and goaltending well we know.

Outside of Drai and occasionally Hyman, they don't have anyone that can get the puck down low and take it to the net with authority . Thus teams don't have to commit numbers defensively to contain the Oil in their own zone.

Although I do think Savoie's played well, he's not what they need right now. They need to find some legitimate size that can actually dominate along the boards and pull defenders out of position.
We have Victor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner for that... cmon man. Stop playin........😂
