Knob just hates J Skinner for some reason.
It’s too bad because we’d be a much better team with him playing top six minutes.

I will say I’m excited to see how Arvidsson plays on the top line. He hasn’t gelled with Draisaitl this year and I’ve been saying for a while that we should try him with McDavid.

Several years later and I still feel like our wingers for McDrai are on par with Caggiula, Slepyshev, etc.

This is becoming a major problem. He was moved up finally before the break and was thriving. Scores last game and right to the press box? Are you kidding me?

Knoblauch should be on the hotspot for some of these weird decisions. I’ve lost track of how many times Skinner has put up points and then benched the game after. Way to keep players accountable. This sends a very confusing message to the players in the room.

Don't you worry, Evan Bouchard will be getting his usual 20+ minutes tonight even if he pulls down his pants and literally takes a dump at center ice.

I certainly hope so, it would be great if he just had a terrible game, then someone would be shown.

I like Nuge at center, but here it is.

Arvidsson getting promoted to the 1st line after a doing nothing for 2 games while Jeff Skinner gets scratched for scoring a goal.

Even if Arvidsson pots a McGimme, like what kind of message does this send about accountability to anyone on this roster. The only way this makes sense is if they're showcasing Arvidsson for a trade.

Hot take: Arvidsson hasn't been that bad in the calendar year 2025. He's relatively productive for a guy that gets nothing for PP time.

Jeff Skinner coming out for Janmark is indefensible though and I'm a pretty big Janmark fan.

Arvidsson’s even strength production is pretty on pace with what he did two seasons ago in LA but I think a lot of us were hoping for a “Draisaitl bump”. Hopefully he shows more chemistry with McDavid.

Podkolzin is the one that’s really struggling. He has 21, 14 and 13 (and counting) game goalless streaks this season despite being stapled into the top six. It’s not good enough.

Correct. Just to illustrate the point, since Jan 1:

Our top 6 really only has 2 players performing to expectation over the last 2 months. The team has been propped up by pretty reasonable depth scoring over this stretch or the wheels might have fallen off way faster.

Corey Perry also stands out in a good way.

Cold take: you are wrong. 5v5 Arvidsson has 8 points in 267 minutes playing mostly top 6 minutes with our best players, only 2 goals. Both Perry and Skinner have the same points but 5 goals playing much less minutes. Arvidsson is 9th in goals for forwards on this team this calendar year.
He can get free assists on Draisaitl plays and that’s it.

The fact that he is 9th on forward for goals while playing the 4th most minutes this year is not good.

Putting him on with McD would be the worst move if showcasing him.
He is a guaranteed minus player tonight and anything positive he does becomes mcgimme

Well we already know he has zero chemistry with Draisaitl lol. Another brilliant off season move for this front office.

How much better this team would be if we spent the $10mill for Henrique, Arvidsson and Skinner differently.

I wish we had kept Holloway over Skinner. Knoblauch doesn’t want to play him anyway.

I don’t care about Broberg personally.

Even if they spent the money differently, I am not sure how much different the team would be honestly. Which is another question to answer. Why? Theres no reason why Henrique and Arviddson shouldn’t be more productive than they are.

Sitting Skinner is insane. He's been one of the few productive forwards the team has over the last stretch. Makes zero sense.

Podkolzin was a good story, but not sure I understand why he's locked into a top six spot. Guy would be a very effective third or fourth liner too.
