The context is this is the NHL. There’s lots of grey in between “domination” and “played like shit”

If you can't take it to a team which has lost 15 in a row on a back to back, and you merely keep up with them, you sucked as a group.

Simple as that.

Can someone post the stats about how good we are since January 13th? 🤣

I think you're finally starting to see that I was right in that these players are mentally weak and not as talented as we want them to be.

There's no more blaming DJ and a lack of a system. Time to start looking directly at Tkachuk and the others.

I'm seeing a group of young guys who didn't learn how to play at the NHL level and it's going to take longer than I thought for them to re-learn the game.

Also, our goaltending has managed to get even worse lately, and that's a hurdle few teams can overcome. We're not the Oilers.

You're absolutely right, it wasn't just DJ, the problem is the players, they have no pride, they have no bite, just a bunch of poodles!

So the last goal was a bad one?

What’s the point in giving an honest assessment of the goal when you act like a child about every comment. If you want my thoughts on this teams penalty kill, go through my post history. I’ve mentioned it a lot through out this season.

This is the YOTES we lost to. They've been by far the worst team in the league since January.

It's not enough to play at their level. You're not taking context into consideration at all here.
They were a playoff team prior to this skid if I remember correctly, so they've shown the ability to play better than they have of late. Edm started the year off 6-12-1, good teams can play really poorly for extended stretches,

This team has lost it's confidence, and a big part of that starts in nets imo, every time a goal goes in it's here we go again.

Here’s the thing. The coyotes were gonna win eventually. The fact they lost 15 in a row is irrelevant.

lol the second period looked like a legit power play for 20 straight minutes

I thought we were better than them tonight. Not by much. But like if forsberg makes a couple saves this is a pretty easy win 5-3 looks bad. But if the score was 3-1 it’s a decent win with not much to write home about

The coyotes didn’t get set up. They entered the zone and soft wristed it

Stützville
I thought Sanderson had a rough game by his standards. Stutzle has a weird case of the yips where he does everything right until he's ready to shoot or pass and that's when he whiffs on the puck.

Zub was excellent.

One good period out of three man. The first was bad and the third was about a tie, which is not good enough when playing at home with plenty of rest.

So overall..we were better? That isn’t some embarrassing display. Goalie just has to make some stops. And so did Vejmelka. Bejmelka did
Expected goals with 3.3 to 2.36 for Arizona at EV. Scoring chances were 23-21 Arizona.

You can think Ottawa was better tonight if you want. But they weren't.

Its not just bad play .. or mistakes either .. Its effort. Their starts have been horrendous. They can't seem to get up and be ready to play, 1 good period isn't enough . We've seen this before.

Yep. Too many factors are combined creating a bottom 5 team.

No way you can choose one thing to fix. Very tough job for management.

I think they will have to make a big deletion or two. Pinpointing which "core" guys to ship out will be crucial.

After that add some pieces that fit their vision. Trial run that next season and go from there.

Yet they allowed a pass from the Im outside to the slot for an attacker who had lots of room, past a defender who doesn’t get in the way of the shot. It’s a good shot from a dangerous spot on the ice. Still too passive on the short sequence. If pinto scores that it’s all talk about how great of a shot it is. Just another night the PK gives up multiple goals.

All situation xGF was 4.36 to 4.31 in Ottawa's favour

The first period was terrible, also worth noting, the ES xG numbers get thrown off in the EN situation, the game flow map literally shows a half xG for that EN shot, which skews things drastically while not being representative of how the game actually played out.

It's like you refuse to get the point lol.

There is no point. The Coyotes have played well 2 nights in a row.

The difference being the Leafs have a goaltender in Woll who makes 1/10th of what our duo makes and can come back off a longterm injury and steal a game for the Leafs.

We're not a good team of skaters, I'll agree with people there. We're an average team with highs and lows. There are a lot of teams just like us and their goaltending is not atrociously bad and many of them will be making the playoffs this season.
