20-0
Not really rent free when you spend actual money on tickets though is it…
This team was run like someone who barely watches hockey. Our old goalie coach was on the radio after we signed Matt Murray and he said he told Dorion to sign him because you need to jump on the chance to sign a goalie who won two Cups. We’ve given away two starting goalies to other teams since then.We had Joey Daccord & they just let him go for nothing, he was clearly the most confident goalie we have had for some time & they let him go. Why is the goalie coach making these decisions still in the organization, clean house in the summer, get rid of the dead weight.
He really is lucky he was able to sign that deal when he did. Great job by the agent. No matter how much money he's made, must suck to be done at 24. He's barely even started his career in the scheme of things and should have had another 7-10 years.
He’s going to Buffalo or Chicago because they so badly need another top draft pick.Starting to feel like our only salvation will be winning 1st overall and drafting Celebrini.
Pretty crazy Chabot is 27 and has never sniffed the playoffs. Literally has one season above .500.
How does a new owner who spent a billion dollars just come in here and start buying out 10 month old contracts at over 5 million per for a number of years? As fans its easy to suggest these things, but man, that is a crap load of money for a new business owner. I suppose part of the blame can go to the new ownership group for allowing Dorion and the old group to have free reigns and make the moves this past summer. I would have thought as a new owner coming in they would have put a moratorium and block all future moves until the keys are turned over. Many deals are constructed this way until full ownership transfer is completed. Maybe Andlauer and group will have to take this buyout of Korpisalo as a severe cost of doing business and a mistake on their part of tightening the leash on Dorion.Focus on the defence back.
Torpedo Korpisalo and take the L, look for a goalie who can consistently give you .910 save percentage, get a solid right handed D, trade tarasenko and Chychrun unfortunately, restock the cupboards a bit. Look for a fast, aggressive lw for line 2 - or line 3 if you want Greig in the top six.
Leave the forwards pretty much intact and let them play more comfortably in front of a better, more balanced D and a real goalie.
How would they have had control exactly?... They didn't own the team...... Also if they are spending to the cap then the hit isn't big at all as they only have so much room to spend. They also only have to buy out 1/3rd if they do it now. It's not a severe cost at all and again how on earth would they have had any leash?...... I actually can't believe someone is blaming the new ownership haha. His puck watching on the Nyquist goal was somethingPretty crazy Chabot is 27 and has never sniffed the playoffs. Literally has one season above .500.
They traded him didn't they for an old goalie. Obviously didn't have enough faith in him.

necessaryAndlauer, and the rest of the ownership group, did not take control of the franchise, until they did.
So the previous owners (M Sisters) had a three person board running the franchise, that the GM reported to and had to have them sign off on trades and UFA signings.
Franchises put up for sale, do NOT suspend daily operations, they keep operating as they see fit.
Sure it is popular to pile of the signings and trades on the previous GM, instead of the three person board that he had to get approval from, but what were they, and the GM supposed to do?
Suspend hockey operations, and NOT bring in a replacement for Talbot, and start the Season with a NHL backup (Forsberg)as their starter, and an unproved AHLer as the back up?
I would be very surprised if the rookie GM recommends a buyout of Korpisalo… Andlauer and the rest of the ownership group don’t have bottomless pockets, and there are other ways to rectify the goaltending if that is the route the rookie GM identifies as a weakness that has to be addressed.
There is no rush to ship out Korpisalo “ no matter the cost”, if a change is seen as nessasary, then they can wait for the right trading partner, at the right time… that could be as soon as the trade deadline if a contender has a starter or back up go down for the season, during the offseason, or at any point during next season banking on Korpisalo’s stock rising with improved play by the team as a whole.
Ok, so you buy a house, it's a million dollars, and the previous owners built a big deck that wraps around the house, looks greatHow does a new owner who spent a billion dollars just come in here and start buying out 10 month old contracts at over 5 million per for a number of years? I don't know the specific answer to your question about control but I recall Dorion thanking the board for allowing the Chychrun trade, suggesting some authorization protocol. (I'm not blaming new ownership). How would they have had control exactly?... They didn't own the team...... We're 27th in the standings. Management need to be taking the longer term view here.
What do they need Chychrun for? To help them push to pick 9th or some shit?
Missed the game tonight but doesn't look pretty. Outshot 19 - 0 in the 3rd? Was Nash that good, or was the team rattled with the Norris injury? We may need to look at a 1/3 Norris buyout this summer if this is another shoulder issue.
