I mean our goaltending has been a standard deviation below league average all season, often letting in weak goals. It's not rocket science.

The AVS quit on Georgiev who had better stats then Skinner after 15 games.
like I said, goaltending is the main issue, but it's far from the only issue. Also, 97 and 29 help this team look and get better results than they actually deserve a lot of the time.

All they needed was Skinner to be slightly less ass or the forwards to score a little more and they would have beaten the Panthturds. IMO the worse team to win the Cup since the Canes. What a coincidence…Oilers the bridesmaids both times

Overcoming bad goaltending is almost impossible in the playoffs. For sure it look some legendary performances like McDavid, the PK and Bouch putting up 80's 90's scoring numbers. Gotta add in the miracle of Pickard coming in and giving Skinner a week to get his crap together with all day mental coaching sessions. We easily could have been done vs the Canucks if we had to keep playing Skinner, or if our backup broke under the pressure.

For what our lineup was, that was a pretty magical stars aligning playoff run (2006 was too, with the bottom 4 taking out the top 4 in the West in round 1). Not something we can expect to reproduce, especially if we have to go through teams that are kinda in our heads like Colorado and Vegas.

Nurse very soft for his size- was much tougher meaner on his first season

Skinner of course goal when game over

Jeff skinner scores again. Worked so hard to get into the top 6 just to go right back to the 4th line after the break.
Yeah, I don’t get that. I thought he was dead in the water before Christmas and was going to get traded but he went on a nice little tear right before the 4N only need to come back and get dumped back to the fourth line.

I hope they still go after a top 4 D. Klingberg is fine as a 7th D at this point in his career.
It would be great but I just don’t know if that’s realistic given the assets/cap space and the guys available. Last thing I want is someone like Ristolainen.

Also like the Rangers a team playing like this even Shesterkin would struggle to help this team from drowning.

Yeah, we have quite a few problems throughout this lineup to be considered a series cup contender at this point. Goaltending defence PK depth scoring.
