Let’s fill our d man hole with an offensive defenseman coming back from surgery lol
Great job management 👍
Next up- Pay 10mil a season for an overrated d man 👍

yup, people who feel all this team needs is a goalie, are way off. Yes, they need a goalie upgrade, but it's just one of many issues that they are currently dealing with. plenty of holes and issues NEED to be addressed, hard to believe that they will all get dealt with before the deadline.

The goalies they have are basically a non-starter for a Cup, the management having a brutal off-season on top of that just adds to the pile of shit.

The summer was clearly their big “upgrade the forwards” move and they spent 10 million in cap to get nothing done but set themselves up to have two young players offer sheeted.

So now because they got nothing done in the summer, they are behind the 8 ball while massive problems in net remain.

That’s called awful management and scouting.

Then Florida, then Carolina and we never win in Carolina. 0-5 roadie coming up. That should light some front office fires before the TDL.
How i am imagining the front office by the end of the week

I think they've quit on their goaltending to be honest.

I posted this yesterday too - but it's no different than any other relationship - to be healthy requires Oilers of mutual trust, respect, and dedication. If you respect your wife, believe your wife has your back and is putting in 100%, you'll put in 100% for her. If one of those pillars fails, the relationship collapses and the whole thing falls apart - the respect dies, resentment builds, and you stop trying.

It's human psychology - works the same with goaltending and a hockey team - if you respect your goaltender, believe your goaltender is putting in 100%, you'll put in 100% for him. If one of those pillars dies - the relationship dies, and you quit on your goaltender.

If you look at it - when teams quit on their goaltender like this their play evaporates and they become worse. When those same teams get a better goaltender through trade, everything gets better. The defence gets better, the offense gets better, and the goaltending gets better. It's consistent and able to be shown statistically time and time again. I posted several examples of it yesterday.
that might be part of it, sure. But that doesn't explain the lack of scoring from our top 6 wingers this year, Arvidsson, RNH, Pod, Henrique, C. Brown all didn't choose to not score for the whole season because they don't have trust in our goalies. Our PK didn't go into the toilet over the last month because they don't trust our goalies. Bouch didn't decide to have a rollercoaster season of bad giveaways because he gave up on our goalies.

This team is able to hide many issues, and look better, with a better W/L record because of 97 and 29. Those guys win games, basically by themselves sometimes. Is this team bad, other than 97 and 29? no, but they aren't nearly as good as they think they are.

They don’t only need a goalie, but it’s our #1 need. This team has shown that they CAN be stingy and strong defensively but our goalies have shown they still give up more than they should. Better goaltending helps reward the players for playing well defensively. The other needs still exist but that’s our most pressing.

The team looked pretty bad going into the break but was still managing to win some games despite their struggles. Now the extended break has left them completely out of sorts (they look like the beginning of the season Oilers). I’m not too sure what they do at this point since the whole team looks like trash at the moment. If they continue to look this bad leading up to the deadline then I don’t think they should really swing for the fences. One or two players is not going to fix whatever the f*** is wrong with them.

Ya. Goalie is our biggest need....smh. no grit, no forecheck, a wreck defensively but goalie is our biggest need.......
Our team when playing well is very good defensively and forechecks well. You have watched us play for most of the season right?
