Don’t really agree with that Bryan, thought they had a solid work ethic for most of the season, never quitting in games. Something has changed the last while though, no compete level. This was never going to be a physical team with this lineup, that’s the route management chose to go.

No goalie helps win either of these games. The team overall ( every player) is playing the worst they've played in years. It was easy to excuse yesterday as a one off, but with this game you can't. Team needs to look in the mirror and find a way to get back in the game.

I think they've quit on their goaltending to be honest.

I posted this yesterday too - but it's no different than any other relationship - to be healthy requires Oilers of mutual trust, respect, and dedication. If you respect your wife, believe your wife has your back and is putting in 100%, you'll put in 100% for her. If one of those pillars fails, the relationship collapses and the whole thing falls apart - the respect dies, resentment builds, and you stop trying.

It's human psychology - works the same with goaltending and a hockey team - if you respect your goaltender, believe your goaltender is putting in 100%, you'll put in 100% for him. If one of those pillars dies - the relationship dies, and you quit on your goaltender.

If you look at it - when teams quit on their goaltender like this their play evaporates and they become worse. When those same teams get a better goaltender through trade, everything gets better. The defence gets better, the offense gets better, and the goaltending gets better. It's consistent and able to be shown statistically time and time again. I posted several examples of it yesterday.

yup, people who feel all this team needs is a goalie, are way off. Yes, they need a goalie upgrade, but it's just one of many issues that they are currently dealing with. plenty of holes and issues NEED to be addressed, hard to believe that they will all get dealt with before the deadline.

We worked hard and battled but rarely show emotion as a team.

Look at the age of our roster. It's why last season was so important.It will only get worse after this year.
 
I think we've seen enough from Klingberg to know that he is not a top 4 defender. He's a decent #6. This team has a huge hole in goaltending, defense and top 6 wingers. We have limited assets too..

Ya. Goalie is our biggest need....smh. no grit, no forecheck, a wreck defensively but goalie is our biggest need.......
