They WERE playing well until the 1-1 goal. Much better than yesterday to that point.
they were ok, at no point today, were the Oilers taking the play to the Caps. at best, it was a saw off for a bit. The Caps have had a bunch of good looks at the Oil net, and just had a few bad bounces. Edmonton was lucky to get a PP, that they probably didn't deserve or earn and get a quick goal. Washington was clearly the better team in the first period.

Oilers play Anaheim March 4th. Get there, grab Gibson and leave Skinner or shoot Pickard to the moon. Done.

FFS I'm sick of this amateur goaltendin g

Shots were 6 to 6 at one point. Seemed like an even playoff style game to me until the Wilson goal then things went sideways. I guess you missed the Oilers player being grabbed and thrown down in the defensive zone with no call?

We have no physical leader right now. No one to level guys, stir up shit and drag the team into the fight.
True but, to be fair, knobby has come out and said he doesn't value physicality and hitting at all and would rather his team "check with their sticks." He's actively coaching this team to not play physically. But I do agree that we are just soft in general

pk and goaltending need to be fixed if this team is gonna go anywhere

Can likely solve that with one single move, tbh.

Dumbest management in pro sports, has to be. Well maybe the Dallas Mavericks have taken the crown for now.
Mavericks ownership isnr dumb. They are doing what the Cleveland Indians ownership tried to do in major league. Ironic both female owners 🤣🤣🤣

i still thought the Caps controlled the better chances, multiple shot attempts that didn't get the bounce, we didn't even have the shot attempts to get the potential bounce. i thought at all times, the play was even at best, or tilted in the Caps favour.

Look at the team make-up. Guys that we have that can play that way: Nurse, Ekholm and Emberson. That's pretty much it. Perry if he were younger would, but he seems to try to avoid that stuff for self preservation now.

Well the Caps are a damn good team, so even isn't bad.

Caps could have had 4 goals that period, thought we were lucky to get out of the first down 1

Not sure, he's being evaluated. Could be they're being cautious to ensure they can trade him?

In any case - the injury risk there starting to mount I think, he's been relatively fragile of late.

Maybe that lowers the price further on him. At this point we are likely going to have to take a risk.
