Disclaimer: “GDT may not be 100% accurate. I got the line combos from your mom. I used to have Center Ice, Gamecenter Live, and an undercover concession worker in each arena, but this **** costs money. I will admit that my pet otter is using all up that money on his worsening opium problem. I try to not be an enabler, but I haven't had a sea urchin problem in months. Then I thought, why should I pay all this money and have a sea urchin problem to appease fans of random teams that I don't even care about anyway? Unless you are willing to take a bunch of sea urchins off of my hands, don't ***** if I get the lines wrong.” - BF

Bold prediction, binnington starts. Teams are on to the backup vs LA thing.

Honestly though I am confident about this game for some reason

Lecavalier and Brown have combined for more goals(9), then Carter and Toffoli(7), since the trade. That in itself isn't necessarily a problem, but the Kings are 8-8-1 since the trade.

The Kings have 49GF in those 17 games(2.88), which is a better average than their 2.71 for the year. But if you take out the weird Boston game, it's down to 2.5 per game.

On the other side, the Kings have given up 43 goals(44 if you count a SO loss), which is 2.53 per game. Take out the Boston game, it's 2.56. Both are lower than their season average of 2.36.

In the 8 wins, 35GF(4.38), 16GA(2.00). In the 9 losses, 14GF(1.56), 29GA(3.22), not including the SO goal in the loss to the Blues. Not including Boston, it's 3.71 goals for per game in the 7 wins. It's one extreme or the other lately.

In the two Kings/Blues games so far, there's a 3-0 game with an empty netter, and a 2-1 SO win. So 4 real goals scored in 2 games. Which obviously means a 7-5 final tonight.

I have been falling back in Love with brown this road trip.

Kings need to win.
Not because I don't want to see a three game losing streak.
Not because they are in the worst stretch of the season
Not because the Blues are a good team and I hate thinking the Central is better.
They need to win because every Duck fan at work has said, " The Ducks are only three points behind your Kings" to me over the last two days.
I need to be able to remind them that "behind" is the key word in that sentence.

Just remind them of the playoff record between the two clubs. If Anaheim surpasses LA in the standings, playoffs it is all that truly matters.
Playing San Jose is better than whomever finishes 4th in the central anyway. both travel wise and level of competition.
Both the Ducks and the Kings will be judging this year on playoff success.

Meh they could win another Pacific banner for all I care. I just want the Kings to be consistent (not in losing)

I'm hoping they will pull out of this slump (.500 hockey) and get some momentum heading into the playoffs. Never thought that gap they had was very telling seeing as they haven't gone head-to-head much with the Sharks or Ducks.

Would just like to see them head into the playoffs with some momentum.

Did anybody else see Sutter's quotes? Can't post them cos im at work but he called DD the best dman in the league and the Norris should change since they are going to give it to the guy with the most points. Please someone posts the quotes. Waiting for the bump at the main boards lol

having the gap close may light the fire under the kings. Better to be going full bore going into the playoffs than coasting.
I think that is why alot of president trophy winners falter. They haven't had to worry about losing there spot in the playoffs for a while before the playoffs.
Having the gap tightened will hopefully give the players something to strive for.

That's when you say....."good, I hope you take the division, just like the past few years and we know how that story ends." Trust me, they'll shut up fast.

Yup 1 cup banner is worth infinite division banners.

I wonder with the new playoff format if the division banner should not go to the team that goes to the conference final from that division's bracket. Just think one day Anaheim could get in the central as a wild card team and then hang up a central championship banner...How many cups would that be worth?:sarcasm:
