Everyone take out a note pad and write down everything good Voynov does on a shift and everything bad. I have been doing this mentally for the past 4 or 5 games and he has been awful.
Has anyone else noticed how putrid Voynov has been? People are conveniently ignoring his bad play and turnovers. I'm not pointing that out because of goals against. He used to be a big part of the kings offense with his ability to skate the puck and breakout passes. That has been nonexistent for some time. Something worth paying attention while you aren't vilifying muzzzzzzin or Regher.
I'm hoping it's jitters playing for that contract than anything else this season...Voynov has been terrible, I can't even remember the last time he hit the net and his defensive play has been unacceptable. But his decline was somewhat predictable, he hasn't had a true sophomore slump yet and he just signed a big contract... I'll chalk his play up to growing pains, he'll bounce back eventually and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a career season next year. Right now it's rough though, ugh.

Lewis with some steam across the line...

I just point it out because everyone keeps harping on Muzzin. Muzzin has been making mistakes but at least he is routinely playing against top competition. Meanwhile, you rarely see anyone make a mention of Vounov's play. He used to skate the puck up, make great breakout passes and join the rush. That has been nonexistent this season.
LOL at the Kings 2nd line.
Brown comes over the lw, stopped before getting it in deep.
10 seconds later Williams does the same thing on the rw.
I don't think anyone is excusing Voynovs play, but in his defense, his turnovers are usually along. The boards or just eating the puck and he's not firing many shots directly into shin guards, and he usually recovers his positioning. Muzzin a turnovers are noticeable, in horrible spots, and he often doesn't recover.
I'll never forget that centering pass he gave to the blues.
