Pretty clear the boys were needing some time off lol
What I’m « worried » about is that they needed that rest because of their playstyle which ask for 100% intensity, causing to accumulate fatigue quicker. Hopefully this is not the case and they were just victim of a tough schedule pre 4 nations.

I can't believe that some have mailed it in on Slaf and dismiss development curves of bigger players. If you can't see what his potential is in these first 3 shifts, than you simply are blind.
3 shifts doesn't make a season. He was garbage for a long time and so far seems like he does it better.

Maybe the 4 Nations showed Slaf that even if you have the talent of Crosby, McDavid, etc. If you don't work your ass off, you won't win shit. No one was playing '' cute '' in that tournament.

The soft players, like Hughes, were invisible.

He hasn't been garbage. He is pacing for close to 50 points. And....I am talking about those that don't think he will ever get better. If those 3 shifts were his consistent effort.....he will be unreal.
I don't think people called for him to be a bust or anything, the lack of effort was concerning but so far seems like he's got it. We need the slaf we had the last 25 games last year and he didn't showed that this year even if he got his points. He needs to be active, continued pressure and not a perimeter player.

yep! 80-90% of teams dream to have Jack Hughes on their line up, yet, he was ragdolled all tournament, I mean every shift he was falling on the ice...those soft guys like Hughes or Petterson are not the way to win championships!
