Well, don, I'm thinking trading Mac would be easy; however, trading his 9.5 mil contract will be virtually impossible. B's would have to eat a portion of that.
The 'tradable' players on this team may get the B's some draft choices, but not high ones.

This is such an unlikeable team. Anytime the stupid notion that this team has any business being in the playoffs and or making a run at it creeps into your head go back and rewatch this game. It had everything, no power-play, no penalty killing, missed chances, shaky goal ending , turnovers galore , stupid penalties , lack of finish …
Now for a couple peaceful weeks not having to watch this predictable crap .

There's just something about this loss. I don't know if it's because of the break, or how bad of a choke it was that felt like it's the decider in this team's fate/season.

As already said, 20 regulation wins in 54 games. There's no real "easy" stretch in their schedule as we come down the finish line;




Playoff odds were at 20% before the game today. It's not a good scene.

I watched all but the first five minutes here are my observations. I will try to be measured and not foolishly rant and rave. ....

The team is of very low quality, the coaching and management are beyond poor.

Whalstrom was a terrible addition. Not only is he slow but he has no idea what he is doing. He made the same coverage mistake three times from what I saw. He is lucky it only resulted in one goal.

Coyle had a good first and then progressively stunk out the joint. Adios prince of Weymouth.

I have a couple other observations but I will leave it at that. (Screw it, I will not leave it at that. Zad had two points but was his usual flood of weak, stupid turnovers in his own zone. Lohrei has the strength of someone 5'2' with very little heart.
Elias would be good if he wasn't deathly afraid to go to the dirty areas.)

Sell everything you can.

One thing about today's game I really enjoyed was Marchy purposely backing into the Vegas goalie.
I believe he did it to motivate the B's, but he should have gotten a penalty. The refs were unusually nice to him.

This is more than speciality teams its the will to compete and lack of skill after Pasta. This is a poorly constructed team and its deserves to be where it is. Its not even worth getting upset over. It has been like this all year, get a good pick and clean house next year.

Was thinking as the game was on. You can be a bad team but be entertaining.

You can be a good team that is boring.

You can’t be a bad, boring team. And that’s what they are.

The problem, as I see it. Is there isn’t a one off solution to fix all their ailments. They lack structure and competitiveness over 60 minutes. That’s on coaching so I’d probably start there, assuming Sweeney keeps his job which he shouldn’t.

If they want to get the heads of the players out of their asses they’ll need a guy behind the bench who carries some weight. First one that comes to mind is Quenville who’s going to get a job sooner or later.

Edit not advocating for Auenville, just thinking of guys who would be available that have a pedigree. Baggage and all

Starts with a new general manager that has no previous ties to this organization. Let Chara become the team president and fire all coaches and scouts. Start from scratch. It will probably take 5 or 6 years but it has to be done .

Freddy played 18 shifts over 14 minutes..He had 1 shot 1 take away 1 penalty .I have a serious problem with this kind of effort.Sooner he is gone the better.

This is the result when you have a team that is weak in talent, mentally weak, and plays with no heart. At least this year, we won’t have to watch them choke in the playoffs. Which the Bruins are known for.
