It's because they can't.Bad teams never follow through. The Bruins GM needs to start unloading the dead weight, one way or another. This has been driving me crazy all season long. All of them have said the right things but then they've failed to follow through more often than not. I don't know what is causing this disconnect.
Guelph will remember this beauty! Fight the good Fight!Fight until there is nothing left to fight for is all I ask....then play spoiler if need be
You mention prospect cupboard .I am not trying to be negative or rude but I just don't see nothing there.I get the whole rebuilding-retooling thing, where people are willing to miss the playoffs to achieve these things - sell to get younger pieces or higher draft picks. Problem is, by the time those picks develop - which is a crap shoot - Pasta (28), McAvoy (27), etc will be entering their back 9 years - both would be over 30, and no one wants players over 30, right! God help us if either gets more banged up. We'd still be saddled with an underdeveloped roster. Or at best, the window for winning would be fairly narrow.
I'd rather bolster the roster now as best we can without selling the farm or emptying the prospect cupboard. If waiting 3-4 years gives us more developed young players like Poitras and maybe Lysell, Merk, great, except they'd have zero NHL playoff experience.
I want Poitras to get as much playoff experience as possible. Same with Lohrei and some of the other D and some of the other forwards. I want Swayman to get MORE playoff experience. If we expect to win somewhere down the road, that will all be invaluable.
Hence the downside of trading for picks. You mention prospect cupboard .I am not trying to be negative or rude but I just don't see nothing there.
Maybe it's the people making picks hereHence the downside of trading for picks.
That’s it, I’m going to the beachTwo weeks w/o Bruins hockey????![]()
Agreed. Presuming we can find a trading partner and are not holding out to make fantasy Xbox trades like Draisaitl for a bag of pucks, it makes sense to build the best team we can going into this playoff and run as long as we can. If nobody new is on deck, take your best shot with what you have. If you are trading for roster players, no UFAs — only players with term left on their contracts. We aren’t close enough to the prize to make a UFA deal worthwhile. Missing the playoffs in the hopes we get better doesn’t necessarily mean we get better. It just means we get a mid-range pick in a shallow draft, missed the playoffs, and had a season of 82 meaningless games. Whoa, Now thats a little harsh. It mat not be their best team in recent memory, but to say they suck? Come on, your better than that!Yea well this Bruins team sucks regardless.Time to start moving parts even if retention needed.
Are there any teams who are playoff bound who are looking to jettison promising young players for the likes of Coyle, Frederic or Carlo? You trade players for young players, not draft picks.
Providence Bruins playing well...better than these guys....Two weeks w/o Bruins hockey????![]()
They are in the bottom 3rd of most major stats so it's not very positive to say the least. How does not very good sound then? I am not trying to be negative but the truth is the truth.Anyhow, I keep watching them and always will, good or bad.Whoa, Now thats a little harsh.
