He telegraphs almost everything he does, then he takes a one timer and puts it directly into the chest of the goalie... he doesnt fit the team. Take a conditional pick for him if you can, I agree.
Chiarot shouldn't be playibg more than ed and definitely shouldn't be playing in ot over ed. That has to change. Also kasper and Elmer should be out there over tank.
I’m not sure why Elmer doesn’t ever play in OT. His skillset and size make him impossible to defend against with all that extra space on the ice.

If the alternative is Gus on PP2 and in OT, does it really matter if Ed looked shaky? Gus looks like the '89 World Series Earthquake out there...
Because while guys like Tank aren't great skaters, they're still way better than Elmer. I thought McLellan showed some serious trust in Elmer when I saw him out there with less than 5 minutes left in the third. Where I'm kinda surprised we don't see Elmer is with Ras on the 2nd pp unit, but then we'd have two guys there who can't shoot, but at least they'd suck up all that space in front of the net.

I genuinely think Tarasenko, Goofy and Holl are the three worst players on the team.
No reason not to play Ed over Goofstasson in OT. And someone else mentioned it but play Soderblom in OT. Put him with a responsible center. Sure he’s not the fastest but he’s huge creates space and makes plays in front the net.

I wish the panzy media would ask these good questions. Todd why choose to continue to deploy gust on pp2 over ed? Why put him and chiarot on the ice over ed in ot? Why is tank getting pp time in ot over Elmer and kasper? This has got to change because we are God awful in ot. It's like they're just dragging it out to a shootout which is annoying. I hated lalonde as a coach but I will say he managed ot significantly better. In fact this year he only put seider or ed on the ice which is what it should be at this point.

Also, to end my rage and tirade today I really wish coach puts Kane back on that second line. He has flaws and but is immensely better than Tank.
And reunite that third line of Berggren, Ras and Soderblom.

I much rather have Elmer play forward in OT than Gustafsson on defence.
And I disagree that Tank is “way better”. He isn’t faster, doesn’t have a better shot, doesn’t have better hands.
Elmer being the size he is would be a nightmare to play in the offensive zone on the PP as you mentioned or in OT.
The more I look at this roster, the more impressed I am with Todd. Gus and holl are just atrocious. We can't get anywhere with them on the team. I get the "patience" mantra. But ffs there's gotta be better options than this. Oh right, we had them in ghost and walman. It's seems every great Yzerman move is just canceled out by a dumb one. Kane on his salary, yes. Trade for dbc, yes. Drafting, yes. Free agency/trades, mostly garbage.
Agree on Holl, I think Motte takes one of the other spots. The third worst could be a rotation of whoever decides to take that honor on any given day. It wasn't that long ago, though, where all three of Holl/Gus/Tank would have been our better players. Bright side is the team has come a long way.
I'd use Albert more in OT, if we're looking to get Gus/Chiarot off the ice. Though I'm not sure how ready to shoot Albert is, which your D need to be willing to do in OT.

Ghost accepted a 3-year $3.2 million deal from Carolina. That's almost certainly better than what the Wings offered.
With ASP in the pipeline they wouldn't want to be tied to Ghost for that long. A one year deal for Ghost would've been a no brainer. 3 years, notsomuch.
