With a better goalie despite the poor defensive play it’s most likely a one goal game. That’s what having a good goalie can do, keep the game close when the team doesn’t have it.

Koskinen might have been better. Just over paid

Unfortunately they play again tomorrow, otherwise Skinner should/would have been pulled. They'll have to tough it out, get their heads out of their asses, hope for a save or three and try to pull off a comeback against a shit team with terrible goaltending of their own.

Maybe a bit better in some ways, it's a toss up. They're all mediocre. Pickard is also likely about as good as Koskinen and Skinner, there's no real huge difference between any of them except that Pickard is a fraction of the cost.
 
I DO NOT HATE Stu, but how anyone can say that he hasn't had a horrible season this year, is beyond me. I know he has a better and more consistent game in him, but he hasn't shown much of it this season. I do not see how a team that is serious about winning can go into the playoffs with a Stu/Picks tandem. I know they aren't a lot of clear options of upgrades out there that are realistic for Edmonton, but they need at least another option.

If Gibson was in net we'd be tied right now, because unlike Skinner EVERY f***ING SCORING CHANCE WOULDN'T END UP IN THE BACK OF THE NET.

What are you even doing here? Shouldn't you be busy prostrating yourself before your Skinner altar?

The team has been awful tonight.


But for f***s sake - the flyers can barely piss a drop and it's kind of the goaltenders job to make a couple big saves.

You look at the 4 nations - both Binnington and Helle made 3-4 saves on chances better than any of the 5 flyers goals.

It's just not f***ing good enough.

This also happens to every team, it's 82 games, some of them are going to be sloppy defensive efforts. And yes, it's the goalie's job in that case to show up and hold the team in in those kinds of games if they are a legit starter.

Did you watch the game? The tippet breakaway was weak? If that is the case the McDavid backhand goal against Helleybucl was much weaker.

Ans the first goal Skinner has to go against the post on the right side and it comes out from behind the net on the left side with NO defenseman there at all.
