The fact that Skinner is starting against Philly instead of Washington on a back to back is a tell that confidence behind the scenes in Skinner's ability to win against good teams isn't great.

Imagine is Stu was on a middling team…he’d get the Campbell treatment

He would have washed out by now. He’s 26, nobody would view him as a prospect or anything. He’d be in the AHL no doubt. MAYBE a backup somewhere.

Defense is sloppy today but it’s been elite this season and he’s still struggling to have a .900 save %. On a bad team he’d get torched and a coach would only play him if they personally hated and wanted to torture him.

I was looking back at the numbers of a guy like Niemi (who I dont think anyone would say was a great starting goalie) and he was rocking like .913 or above seasons for San Jose and here we are having a couple idiots draining their excuse bag on why its all the rest of the teams fault

If he was on a middling team, he wouldn't be nearly as sheltered as he has been and it would be clear he's f***ing terrible so he'd be in the AHL.

Spector even admitted there is prob better goalies out there, but NO WAY would they be as good of locker room guys/teammates like steady stu is.

So glad to hear Stu is able to shut out the other team from the Oilers locker room. Too bad the game is played on the ice where he sucks.

I was told that doesn't matter by certain radio personalities, because most goals are scored on rush chances and oilers aren't good at defending rush chances, LOL

Then we should find a goalie that is good at saving rush chances.

That’s a great point.

No it's not because we play Tampa on Tuesday so it makes more sense to play your back up vs Washington than play Skinner twice in 3 days.

An atrocious showing defensively by many passengers today. Skinner.. whatever man. Getting left out to dry but he also shows he can't squeeze a save at all when needed. I'm sure the caretaker GM and his puppet master Jackson are scouring the waiver wire hard though.

This is a joke of a game from all 6 d men AND Skinner.

This American League level of puck management doesn’t win if we have Hellebyuck there. This is not anywhere in the realm of playoff level hockey, nevermind championship level. We have 14 shots for f*** sakes.
