My prediction

2 days after 4 Nations final, players who attended reportedly dealing with lingering effects from illness outbreaks, day game for oilers in Philly, Skinner scheduled start

Oilers play like crap, but Leon says time to shine.

Win 4-2.

Arvi apparently demoted to 4th line. A disappointing season for him. Let's see if Savoie is the answer on that second line.

There's still a ways to go (and the playoffs are a different animal) but the Henrique/Skinner/Arvi signings sure haven't produced the results that we thought it would. At least none of the contracts are for more than 2 years.

More proof of just how important drafting and development are relative to free agent signings.

Looking at the stats posted above we should take this. Our pk needs to be better though. I really hope Savoie looks good today/this morning.
I’m headed to the ODR after the game, should be a great day for hockey.

We saw connor struggle to lift the 4nations trophy. Do we think its because of an injury that he couldnt lift it over his head or he didn't want too because he hasn't won a cup yet. He seemed pretty anxious when it was given it to him despite scoring the winning goal.

Being hurt would answer alot of questions about his play this year and lack of shooting/goal scoring. He also fired off a lot inaccurate shots in the tournament, something he hasn't even tried in an Oilers jersey this year

How long is Arvidson signed for again? Given his injury history, I wasn't a huge fan of the signing initially, but it's turned out to be a big dud, even when he's in the lineup. Wonder if we could package him in a deadline trade?

Yeah, it seemed odd in the moment - he barely lifted it to shoulder level.

If he's injured and it's something that rest and rehab will help, I wonder if he's better off taking time off and coming back strong for the playoffs.

It's not a Cup. Everyone before him and the majority after him have all hoisted a Stanley Cup. He's waiting for the big prize.

He is under contract for next season as well.

I don't know about his trade value. 4M for next season is a big bite, even with the rising cap.

I think the PK issues the last few games were multi pronged.

First issue was Ekholm was in the box for a few of them and we had inadequate net front replacements. Even when he wasn’t in the box, the net front defense was very poor.

Second issue, which was the bigger one, was goaltending. Similar to the start of the year, basically every shot is going in.

To me both things are pretty fixable, but incredibly frustrating to watch when it tanks like that.

There's ABSOLUTELY nothing to suggest it. You could see it in his eyes. He was happy to win, but he wants to hoist THE CUP, not this cup. It was VERY Clear.

Harley didn’t raise it either. Pretty sure almost nobody that had not won the cup yet raised it.
