This has been Housley MO everywhere he has coached whether head coach or assistant. He's just not a very good coach and former players have said as much when they actually speak candidly.

I did not know about his previous coaching. That is too bad. Great offensive player but our defense is a mess too often. I think when your team defense is a mess its best to simplify things. Just have your players play their area of the ice not chase the puck like 6 year olds
