Let’s try and tone down the player bashing tonight. Criticism is one thing but some of you have been way over the top. This goes for Mika, Kreider, Laf, and now Fox….can’t believe I’m typing Fox’s name.

I’m only posting this because I’ve gotten complaints from members and I’m trying to find a middle ground and a compromise.

Have spoke to @Machinehead about this and we agree.
Be meaner. Ban people. :)

It really hasn’t come to that yet, just asking folks to tone it down. Not saying to stop altogether. I get some players are struggling. A lot of these players are not going anywhere. So yeah, it’s best to just hope these players like Mika, Panarin, and Fox figure it out.

One example, Before the 4 nations Mika had been playing much better and has been one of the better players since Jan, yet he is still getting heat. I just don’t get it.

There's a huge difference between personal insults like "he sucks" than pointing out his flaws or talking about the possibility of moving his contract because he's not part of the solution moving forward.

Both things can be true, he's obviously playing better, he literally had nowhere to go but up, however I'm of the mind that he's not a piece you can count on or someone is an impact player on a Cup winner.

The first goal against Fox is on we'll hear from people way too in love with their own opinions "I was told the tournament didn't matter".

Taking off roughly half a season is not easy to forgive, unless he was hurt.

This is basically my point. When someone says “he sucks” but constantly says without depth discussion, is where it becomes trolling. Explain to the rest of us why you think said player “sucks” Have a legit discussion and debate.

Whether Mika is part of the future or not, it’s the same case.

I’m personally not defending Mika but some comments from members went so far, it became libel and it was personal attacks on the players. Nothing to even do with hockey.

"A dissertation as to why Fox sucks" Prepare to see a 30,000 character, double spaced post about this here.

Mika himself talked about it being a mental issue. Dude was visibly depressed and had panic attacks. Not everything has to be physical. Elite athletes are human beings.

How did HFNYR react to him talking about mental issues? He was ridiculed and called soft.

With all due respect as someone that has anxiety among other things, if you don't want to get scrutinized for your play because you have mental issues that don't work the high stress and high visibility job of professional sports. He's depressed every damn year for months and then snaps out of it. But fans are your customers and empathy goes so far. You have to perform. If I didn't do my job because I was depressed I would lose it. And I don't make the money that Mika makes. Or at least didn't when I had a job.

Did Zibs literally say depressed and panic attacks or is that your inference? I never heard that. I would have definitely given him grace if he was having so much anxiety.

Why don't you tell those members to ignore the posts of others that they find so troubling instead of restricting free speech?

The issue then is why did the Rangers hand him a full nmc contract for that long knowing he mentally can't handle it all the time?

And if he knew that he would be able to play at a high level for half a season only he should have asked for less money since there's no way he'd live up to the contract. Plus, he would have less anxiety on a more reasonable contract.

If anyone would know about this it would be you, but are you speculating or do you have a link where it's confirmed from him that he had panic attacks? I'm not interested in anything that's conjecture.
