The difference in that game was the Rangers really didn't play that badly. The Rangers got called for a few really, really questionable penalties and were down two men for something like 4+ minutes.

Good memory. I've never seen a replay of that game. I need to search for it.

Ogrodnick was a decent Ranger. He had some good years here. Didn't play a lick of defense however.

Yes but this wasn't the Preds game from a couple of years ago where we scored like 7 goals early and then put our foot off the gas. His play time was all within the range of the goals scored. It's not like we lost this game and he played till the end and the Sabres took their foot off the pedal and that's why expected goals against weren't that high because they played a defensive game in periods 2 and 3. Shesterkin did not get the benefit of the Sabres taking their foot off the pedal because he got pulled.

You can also retaliate in a manner that doesn't take a penalty. I mean no one had to skate up and punch him in the face, but something more than fox giving him a backrub against the boards. Just shows they aren't emotionally invested. Going through the motions.
