Looking forward to this one tonight! Good luck. I don't think the Caps will be jazzed for too many more regular season games -- they already look like they've put things on cruise control -- but I think tonight will be pretty fun.

Any news on Gaborik (outside of the fact that's on LTIR)? That injury looked ugly. Felt bad for him.

Of course Richards is going to get his first tonight. He'll probably add a couple assists too.

Doesn't matter how it ended, or what his role was in 2014, but in the 2012 and 2013 playoffs:

Kopitar, 38GP, 11G, 18A, 29Pts
Richards, 35GP, 7G, 20A, 27Pts
Carter, 38GP, 14G, 12A, 26Pts
Williams, 38GP, 10G, 14A, 24Pts

He may not have been great in the regular season, and we won't know how much the Florida and Chicago concussions did to him, but he was right there come playoff time in those first two years.

I am worried they are rushing Quick

I doubt they would even think of playing him if they thought anything more would happen specifically because of the injury in Boston. Anaheim and San Jose are closing the gap, but they're not desperate enough yet to force Quick back.

good test tonight! the backup goalie in net for WSH doesnt bode too well for us....
\

I think it does, actually. Grubauer is okay, not sold on him. And the Caps haven't played well since the All Star break, winning a lot of low scoring 1 goal games, after trailing ,mostly due to Holtby playing insane and Kuznetsov being a beast (watching him all year really appreciate just how skilled he is...his stats doen't lie, he's is that good) WIlliams has benefitted greatly from Kuzy's play this year.

So I think the Kings need to put a great 1st together and push the envelope, get a few goals. Going up 2-0 wont due that, the Caps have had a tendency to realize somewhere post middle of the game, they're playing like crap and wake up.
Also, they have not lost 2 in a row all year...

So, which superstition has more power, w-l-w-l, or the fear of the backup goalie?

I don't even know anymore

On the good side, we're playing a great team tonight, so that helps...but a backup...and we've been w-l...but there's the road trip...just so many factors.

Hopefully we keep our new tradition of winning a game and then losing a game going tonight, lol. However we also seem to take on a major injury in our last few wins. Not too excited about that.

Richards gets his first tonight?

AND second!

are there any other streaks or factoids that need filling in?

Rogue Vachon is starting
Fukufugi will get the start
It's speculated yes and he was first off the morning skate
but Sutter is playing coy so...at your own risk you know?

LAK sub-forum brings it every goalie question

We should get a superstition strength chart for each game
I'll toy around with graphics later, but I could put together a simple one, like a bingo card, with a high-low superstition index tonight

 This game has this sub-forum on point
