As a franchise, they are making progress. McIlrath started playing hockey a few years before being drafted. Miller started playing defense a few years before being drafted. Next time they will draft a defenseman that started winning best defenseman awards a few years before being drafted

Chytil really hasn’t had a great season. I was repeatedly pointed in the direction of his 82 game point pace 2 weeks ago. But when I brought up that his play his lacking, his hockey sense and IQ are lacking, his defense is lacking, his faceoffs are lacking, and that a lot of his production has come against subpar teams, I was simply reminded about his PACE and asked what was my expectations...

Bottom line is, Chytil in his 3rd season, is hardly taking significant steps forward in his development.

He pratically double his ppg this season. He can be frustrating yes but I'd hardly call this season a not significant step forward.
