league average is in the low .900's in modern times. There is no Carey Price in this league anymore. The guy likely to win the Vezina has a .925 currently and is head and shoulders ahead of other starters. Ten years ago 29/33 starting goalies or 1B for a few teams in the league were .910 or above. 33 goalies started over 35 games and Brodeur had the worst SV% in the league at .901.

The difference is those teams have way more talent they do not need great goaltending .....montreal needs their goalie to be their best player.
