Feels like this is a must win in many ways. For the Rangers and Bruins to make a push for the playoffs, they need to start winning games. Tough game on Saturday against Vegas.
After that the Bruins have the Ducks, Leafs, NYI, Pens, Min, Nash and Carolina before the trade deadline. They need to win more than 50% of those games.
Detroit is on a roll and I can't see the Bruins catching them and you have Tampa and NYI with 3 games in hand. Not great. The other thing to note is that not many teams make the playoffs with a negative goal differential. Boston -23 .....Yikes.

I am a HOCKEY FAN first, last and always. The Bruins could relocate to another
city and I would still watch the NHL, NCAA & HS hockey. Of course I follow them, as I grew up in Boston and believe it or not, prefer to see them do better than worse.

Part of that means believing what the best path forward is short and medium term. However, I can look at other teams and compared to Boston be willing to make a call on whether or not they have the ability to make the PO. I don't see it
with this group, as they can't play well enough on the road. So time to sell and I
believe they are better off with a one step back to advance two steps, as soon as next year.

Yup. That Bruins team was still good but i remember the feeling was "oh well, they lose to Tampa again"

Then Tampa decided to roll over.

I still say if the Blue Jackets beat them in the second round, they go on to win it all. Bobrovsky was playing at a Conn Smythe level only to somehow get outdueled by a guy playing at a conn smythe+1 level.

They should. In the 70’s, twice, the Bruins played a best of 7 vs LA. That was as far east and west as you could get. But they want us to be excited to playoff TB or FLA or the Leafs every……..single…..year. At least in the 80’s when you had divisional play you always played that team 8 times in the regular season so the rivalries were huge.

Back-to-back or not, they had better be starting Swayman tonight. Give Korpisalo the out-of-conference opponent Vegas on Saturday. Not only do they want the 2 points, you want to make sure the Rangers don't get any points.

After tonight, Swayman likely doesn't see game action for 16 days if they go this route. (Doubtful he appears for Team USA in the 4 Nations IMO, I think they'll peg him as the 3rd goalie). Coming off a shut-out just adds fuel to the fire (I'd always start a goalie coming off a shut-out the next game).
