GDT: Game 55: wings at our boys

Detroit has looked pretty decent this year. We've faced one goal deficits before, and they tend to go either way :help:. Hope springs eternal, though.

That first goal happened in the blink of the eye. I had to watch the replay twice to catch how they scored.

Detroit is starting to manhandle us in our own zone. Plus, we are not generation enough offense in their zone to even mention.

....and Wright changes all that in an instant. We are back in this game, which didn't look like it would happen.

Might have been a little distracted by Tanev stretching out his stick. But, yeah, that has to count as a weak goal.
Yeah, over the past couple seasons Ive been pretty hard on Grubauer for goals like that. Kinda feels like I should at least try to be consistent.

They're getting some decent chances, even if it still feels like Detroit kinda has the momentum?

Well, maybe not? That was a good shift by Wright's line.

I know that shots on goal isn’t always indicative of actual chances, but it’s remarkable how often this season the Kraken have struggled to put the puck on net on home ice.

Now would be the time for an effective power play.

Why does the PP _still_ look so clunky?

Even Forslund is like "I thought McCann was gonna shoot there!" and JT replies "Me too!"

I don't even think the players know half the time. The PP still looks like a bunch of guys who have never played together before.

Kakko almost nabs a late goal. This has been a pretty scruffy game, but I have been entertained. It feels like a one-goal deficit that we could overcome.

...or not.

I lied last game...

"As good as a Kraken game gets this season" is seeing them make a good effort, not score any points that ruin their draft position...AND see kids like Wright do stuff like that.
