I was at the game live (only the second game I’ve been to this year) so perception may be skewed but I think this was Smith’s best game I’ve seen at the NHL level.
it was to my eye on TV. i think that team's lack of size really helped him since his game is so non-physical.

Awful choke by the PP2, this game was sooo winnable, also I never want to see Georgiev again.
The worst thing is that this was one of the easier games for the rest of schedule.
I feel bad for the young guys, they were heroes and they took the game into their own hands... MG has a lot of work on his hands and it starts with getting some real talent around them...
I've not felt this bad for the young kids in a while... F*** this
I’ve got some bad news for you on the Georgie front 😂

Sharks could have easily given up 7 goals in this game. We have got to be the worst team in the league by far at giving up odd man rushes.
I only needed them to give up 6 I’m not greedy

It’s the most tired line in the world, I know, but Goodrow as a problem has to be addressed. There’s no universe where his locker room personality is a net-positive against the losing streaks he contributes to. And on top of that, his piss-poor play going continually unpunished sends a terrible message to the kids: this is not a meritocracy, it’s a seniority system.

Get him off my television. He’s quite possibly the worst player in the league and I’d be much happier watching this team lose without him on it.

Anyways, ideal tank job from the rest of the boys stealing defeat from the jaws of victory while still delivering an entertaining product.

The Good… Smith looked fantastic, Celebrini was an absolute beast, Graf looks legit, and that was the best game I’ve seen from Shaq at this level.

The Bad…That has to be the worst 2nd PP unit ever iced in the history of the NHL. Holy hell.

Terrible line management at the end of the game. I get the thought behind shifting the top line with 2:30 left, but they couldn’t get the goalie out and they were all gassed by the whistle around 40 second left and Celebrini had been on the ice for almost two minutes.

The lack of depth is glaringly obvious and needs to be addressed this offseason or things might turn sour quickly. You have to show the young players that you are willing to do anything we can to get better vs shipping away vets for picks at every deadline. The next 8 months might be the most important in franchise history.

Forgot to add the worst part of the night…pulled a Georgiev mystery puck. Message me your address and I’ll pay for shipping.

Potsy committed the original sin by not holding the puck in at the line
Sure. But that was a more reasonable mistake, for lack of a better word...but a decent NHL defenseman can play a 2-on-1 properly (prevent the cross-ice pass) 85+% of the time. The forwards need that so they can take some risks. The goalies need that so they can focus on the shooter.

Also...Liljegren is the putative NHLer. It'd be different if Liljegren was an offensive force, but he's unspectacular there.

The funny thing is, I thought this was one of Goodrow’s better games this season.
And he was still virtually useless.

The kids have been playing so well. Get rid of Vanecek and Georgiev, bring in a legit top 4 defenseman and a veteran goalie for Askarov to get along with (and someone who is not Alexander Georgiev). Bring in a guy like Sam Bennett or Brock Nelson so that next year we have some fight/size. We'll still be drafting high next year but we have to be winning a game like this one.

On the bright side, our youngsters played well against one of the loudest fanbases in the league. Finally getting some attention lol

Nelson won't be playing anywhere other than Minnesota next year, and Bennett feels like a bad long-term contract waiting to happen on a non-elite team (see his Calgary years). I'd look at a cap dump like Copp or something to fill that role though and get compensated to take the contract.

Who do you want to bring in to help the top-6? We need someone to replace Granlund. Idk if there's a young guy ready for that yet.

Horrible loss, Mack looked defeated in the post game interview. I know lottery pick and all that, but they need a couple of these wins for morale
Get Georgiev away from this team. A goalie like this will continue to kill off whatever spirit this team has left.
This is exactly why I can't take losses this year as lightly as last year. There are already pieces in this team that can realistically take this team to the best version of what this franchise can be. That's why it's important MG learns to react and take action to cut anything that stands in the way. The way Georgiev has performed should not give him another game in teal.

Call me crazy but i think Graf has the best chance of being a top 6 wing in the system. Feel like hes undervalued here since he was a college signing and has been around 1 year vs guys posters love to follow and have done so for 3-4 years but are unlikely to be NHLers
