Lol relying on Demidov to transition to center or any of their Bystedt tier prospects is an even worse plan.

Where they're really hooped is that Suzuki and Caufield are just good enough to keep them out of the basement so their window to add elite young talent has closed.

It's like if we had tried to "rebuild" around Hertl and Meier. This is Doug Wilson shit.
I mean he played center in the K so it's not like it's new territory for him. He's played some there this year.

Also, the team is building from the back-end up. Their strength it would seem is going to be on the blue line. I also really have high hopes for Jacob Fowler. Dude is absolutely dominating the NCAA.

Nice play by Solomon Grundstrum

The vast majority of these prospects will fail, potentially including Demidov. Reinbacher is already well on the way to Bustville. It looks like they'll never get another chance to draft top 5 again too. I just don't see any way they turn this into a contender while Suzuki and Caufield are still in their prime.

Why, because he got injured? Obviously any prospect can bust.

I think so far the Sharks are playing good, it's lucky that the first game after losing Granlund and Ceci was against Montreal. But it's great way to ease the young team onto the rest of the season.
I've liked Graf, Mukhamadullin a lot so far, but I wanna see most of the AHL players back down to keep the fort and go far in the playoffs for this year. For that to happen I want to see Grier make a smaller moves at TDL and taking back some ''cap dumps'' as a veteran presence for the rest of the year.

He was awful last year and kind of a reach to begin with tbh.

There's no elite talent on the roster or in the system with the possible exception of Demidov, though plenty of red flags there too.

I assume that's what will happen. Barracuda deserves to have a legit run with the guys that took em there.

I mean outside of Celebrini and Askarov do we? You can find red flags with seemingly any player.

Celebrini and Askarov is a pretty huge caveat. Potential superstars at the two most important positions. Even if Demidov reaches his potential it will be on the wing. Also we will pick top 3 this season and possibly next while the Habs' window of drafting top 5 has likely closed.

That's fine for them. I think there's enough talent there to make a push for something. Fowler is one of if not the best current goaltender in the NCAA and they have at least 4 solid top 4 D-men in their cupboards to go along with guys already making names for themselves on the big club like Hutson and Struble. I think Slaf will end up being a PPG player and Cole and Suzuki are still in their early to mid-twenties. They'll still end up with a top ten pick this season and if they can maneuver their way to top 5 (team had 4 picks in the top 43 and 7 In the first three rounds) then they can get another key piece.
