Mostly on the powerplay. When the powerplay runs cold, as everyone's does, he's not a very useful player. If he were even above average at 5v5, nobody would have a problem with him.

Yeah I mean we are not asking him to be a superstar lol (would be nice though). He's getting paid 8.5m, he should be better 5v5 than a box standard NHL 3rd or 4th liner. Because that's what he is right now. Or frankly, he's worse because he doesn't bring in the physicality most of those players do.

Gomez showed bad signs here but was effective in both seasons. The bottom fell out in Montreal.
