I don't know why some people want to trade Chabot instead.

It's all about how $$$ impacts perception. Chabot is mildly overpaid. But if he was making 6.5 or 7 would people be complaining? Probably not.

Meanwhile Norris (who I really like as a person/player) is getting paid 8 but is playing like a 4.5 mil/year player.

Yes we know they were literally given a Stanley Cup contender on day one but they aren't a storied franchise and I doubt all those people in attendance flew up from Vegas..
