Hamonic haters are insufferable.

The Haminator is needed.

All hail Hamonic for first line
You're insufferable

I understand Hamonic for the most part not being the reason between losses and wins but its such an easy change or non change to maximize your roster by putting in a better player over an inferior one regardless of position.

Hamonic is a warrior and can make some big defensive plays, but he has been a net negative overall for two seasons and will only get worse. Better to have him spend rest of season in press box and jump in if we have injury trouble. At this point we need the extra forward to spread the load
To give hamonic some credit he looked fine in the first game and a half he was back from injury. At worst he shouldnt be playing. At best he should only be playing every other game.

In the winning streak the Sens got some good bounces on goals in tight games, Tonight they were in it despite injury and back to back, and some that would have gone in on other nights did not go in.

This is what a Hamonic shift consists of.

In the defensive zone, puck gets dumped in, at the slightest pressure Hamonic panics and gives it away, now the other team is ragging the puck around getting chances, it comes to Hamonic again and he has time to make a play and it you think finally the pressure is going to be relived, but he panics again and gives it away. shift ends with a goal against or 5 ottawa senators barely able to skate off.

In the offensive zone, the team is zipping it around, getting chances, touch passes, great movement, it comes to the LD, the only one open and he is wide open is Hamonic and he is tapping his stick, LD is forced to pass to him, Hamonic gets it and without looking at anything blasts it on net that either goes wide or gets blocked and the opposing team gets it and possesion and momentum is lost.

Kucherov is just so good, one for he few players who makes offense look easy - he doesn’t hustle like McKinnon, he’s not dripsy doodle like Mcdavid he’s just smooth and super intelligent.
modern Gretzky. Pasta like that too.

It's easy to understand why McDavid or MacKinnon, Makar, Matthews etc are great.

But Kucherov is the most impressive imo, goes half speed as those guys, but still dominates.

He always has at least one "f*** it I'm going in!" moment in every shift that he's not remotely talented enough to pull off and it always backfires. Either in terms of defensive coverage or trying to get pucks on net or pinching etc

If he just stuck to the system things would go a lot smoother. He'd still be relatively ineffective but at least he'd be predictable.

Don't forget the countless icings per game and the Chris Phillips special of pointing to teammates on where to go

I don't hate him
Matinpalo is just better and has great chemistry with Kleven
A part from the Washington game they were real good together for a while
I personally think Matinpalo did enough to push Hamonic out, he was starting to add some offense to his already solid defensive play and has great chemistry with Kleven, so I'm disappointed that Green scratched him in favour of playing Hammer, but at the same time, the negativity around Hamonic is over the top. He's played well this season relative to what should be expected of a vet earning 1.1 mil.

I get coaches take time to build trust in a player, but you need to play the guy to allow him to earn that trust, I think we need to let Matinpalo earn that trust and get him in the lineup. Hammer is a great #7 imo, but as a 6 he has some holes in his game at this point.

This is a team game, it's not just about one guy, they all looked like they were skating in mud at times & losing their two good centres doesn't help. This team seems to be constantly dealing with injuries especially to key players.

i understand the affinity of having veteran players and physical players but they cant be a black hole otherwise lol

sanderson went from looking like complete shit to looking like his usual self...i wonder what happened
kleven went from looking like he could do a spell in the top 4 to looking like complete shit...i wonder what happened

plus with kleven still in the development stage this is a bigger negative then just us trying to lock a playoff spot this year

can Sens win with a top line center that falls as much as stu? Like that’s supposed to be our 1C monster that supposed to obliterate his competition.

Yeah boys were gassed. This schedule is so f***ed.

Norris and pinto out you want to believe but I just don’t think it’s feasible at all
The schedule is bad because of the 4 Nations Tournament interrupting it.

I agree also that he was of great help when we were missing 2 top 4 D
But there's a reason why Kleven played one of his worst game of the season yesterday metric wise after about 2 months of solid solid play.
I think it was Mike Johnson who said this morning we get a better version of Kleven with Matinpalo
Even Sanderson who is playing like a Norris candidate right now was close to bad paired with him
But when you have a better option like Matinpalo who is reliable and big and strong in front of our goalie I think he should play
And hamonik would get a chance to rest on a back to back above all and be ready for when a D get injured (wich seems inevitable on this team)

2 stupid coaching decisions tonight (well, that we know)

Hamonic + too early empty net

Hopefully both Norris and Pinto are in the lineup on February 22nd. This 2 weeks break happens at the right time.

I called it stupid and it was. They scored the GWG on an empty net.

Teams should never pull their goalie out before there's like 1-2 mins left.

Batherson makes 3.25 less than Tkachuk and has the same amount of points while being better defensively.
I disagree about pulling the goaltender. When we were on the PP, we should have pulled the goaltender asap. Stats prove that pulling the goaltender when you have a few m minutes left to play is advantageous to the team that is behind.

I agree about the Green infatuation with Hamonic; that must stop and Staios must do the hatchet job (order him replaced by Matinpalo) and not sign Hamonic again.

I would trade Batherson as he disappears too often and lacks hustle.

To be honest, we OFTEN say "the worst I have ever seen" when we refer our PP. It seems we always aim lower lol
Must be very young or a new Senator fan. Think back to the expansion team for possibly "the worst ever PP".
