That's kinda the point of going overboard with hooking and holding. Do it all the time and the refs end up letting most of it go. Advantage to them. Also why most of the 1990s happened when everyone decided to go that route.
Usually that strategy results in still taking a fair bit of penalties, refs want to keep the # of penalties close, but tbay was getting away with tones and got more pp opportunities

Probably won’t see any lineup changes other than a guy in for Pinto.

Really hoping we see some proactive moves by Green, there’s no way he can keep Hamonic in taking the past months worth of games into account.
And yet, Hamonic remains not only in the games but on the top 2 pairs.

If one must go, Batherson looks like the underachiever who is near the top of the line. The coaching staff needs to address his lack of urgency, energy and lack of drive. He disappears too often.
Disappears too often is not even framing correctly. His default is dissapeared. He comes out of hiding once a year

I agree about the lack of energy and intensity at times, but he is also one of our most skilled player and on a great contract. Not one of the guys I would trade personally.

can Sens win with a top line center that falls as much as stu? Like that’s supposed to be our 1C monster that supposed to obliterate his competition.

Overall good effort. Can't win em all and we kept it close the whole way. Technically scored 4 tonight. Poor Pinto.
Yeah boys were gassed. This schedule is so f***ed.

Norris and pinto out you want to believe but I just don’t think it’s feasible at all

Where does he use his skill? His skill killed a crucial powerplay lol. His skill is of nearly no use to anyone

Yeah he will have that 4 point game against a bottom feeder. And then…

2 stupid coaching decisions tonight (well, that we know)

Hamonic + too early empty net

Hopefully both Norris and Pinto are in the lineup on February 22nd. This 2 weeks break happens at the right time.

Green should not have pulled the goalie until we were set up in the offensive zone on that last PP.

I called it stupid and it was. They scored the GWG on an empty net.

Teams should never pull their goalie out before there's like 1-2 mins left.

Batherson makes 3.25 less than Tkachuk and has the same amount of points while being better defensively.

Green thinks or at least says hamonic is playing great. He’s not walking that back

USA probably going to win it. May light a fire under his ass.
I don't know why the betting odds have the USA winning it.

Ya they have a great chance, but only because of Helleybuck.

McDavid, Mackinnon and Makar I would take over any other players in their position. The speed, the skill, come on!

P.S. clever name, only Adele Dazeem is better.

We had good chances that we couldn't convert. Overall pretty sloppy play from both teams. Tampa has a good offence and we didn't punish their defensive mistakes enough. Need to bounceback with a strong effort next game and get the W.

In Ottawa, where the Rideau flows,
The Senators donned their battle clothes.
With sticks and skates and hearts of fire,
They faced the Lightning's fierce desire.

The Bolts from Tampa, swift and bright,
Brought their thunder, their electric might.
But on this night, beneath the sky,
The Senators were set to fly.

The puck was dropped, the game began
A dance of skill, a warrior's plan.
The Senators, with grit and grace,
Found their rhythm, found their place.

Brady Tkachuk, with strength and speed,
Charged the net with lightning heed.
A shot, a goal, the crowd's elation,
A sign of Ottawa's determination.

The Lightning fought, with Vasilevskiy's save,
But Ottawa's resolve, they could not stave.
In overtime, with tension high,
Tim Stützle's shot soared through the sky.

The horn did sound, the crowd did cheer,
For Ottawa, the victory clear.
In Tampa's den, the Senators stood,
A testament to their brotherhood.

So here's to Ottawa, brave and bright,
Who conquered Tampa in the night.
A game to remember, a tale to tell,
Of how the Senators rang the victory bell.

sooner or later this has to change right

its no surprise this was klevens worst game in a long time

Hamonic is a warrior and can make some big defensive plays, but he has been a net negative overall for two seasons and will only get worse. Better to have him spend rest of season in press box and jump in if we have injury trouble. At this point we need the extra forward to spread the load

No doesn’t. Hamonic is gone after this year. Thats when it ends. Even if matinpalo comes back in green will be looking for the tiniest thing to scratch him over. Hamonic is greens boy he would rather get fired than seriously bench Hamonic.

It's incredibly frustrating but if G hits that open net, we probably go to OT and then who knows.

Back to back, with travel.
Hamonic in and playing bad.
Pinto out early.
Frustrating final PP

I liked that they didn't give up and hung in there after being on their heels early.

Now we have to hope Pinto isn't out much longer than Norris and determine how to configure the lines.

Ostapchuk to 3rd line and Gaudette 4th line?
