I was advocating for Ylonen to play more all season, but he's been dog shit. Probably demotivated given that he never gets a chance no matter how he plays in his 5 minutes a game.

Yeah, I feel like whatever confidence he had built up from playing well earlier in the season has fizzled out now. It's too bad cause I thought he was looking real good but never got much of a chance as you said. Just seems like MSL isn't a fan for whatever reason

I just hope that Trouba won’t injured anybody, please, since he gonna play against our first line all night long.

I hope it’s part of the game plan, not just watching out for him but also engaging him physically. Cant stand a player deliberately trying to injure others time and time again.

I feel like it really is not a bad thing to have gallagher in the line up. He works hard and he is a perfect vet with grit to put on the 3rd line.

Ylonen brings nothing right now to the thing. It is sad because he is fast and got good hands but he seems to be invisible lately.

Yeah it's so disheartening playing on a 4th line in the NHL with PP time to boot.
Maybe he should get his head out of his ass and show up for once.
Marty gave up on him last season when he couldn't hold down a top 6 spot with that depleted lineup.

I look forward to seeing Gallagher out there fighting for his life. Can't wait to watch him dangle someone again, so cool to see him execute those slick passes again.:sarcasm: (added this because, well)

Ylonen just doesn't do anything with his skills.. I get why people want to give him more opportunity but sometimes it has to be earned.

Ylonen had 5 games without Gallagher and I can't tell you one play he made.

There was a stretch early in the season, from Oct. 11th to Nov. 2nd (8 games) where Ylonen was deployed for 11 mins. + per game, up to a high of 14:19 and during that stretch, posted 1 goal, 0 assists.

After that, his TOI has been variable and appreciably sub-10 mins. per game until another stretch, where his playing time was bumped up in 6 consecutive games (Dec. 31 - Jan. 11th, up to a high of 15:05) and where he posted 0 goals and 1 assist.

His TOI has since gone down.

I don’t know what we have here but he only has 3 goals and 4 assists in 43 games this season.

4th line? Guy plays less than 10 minutes a game more often than not. He’s the only one doing anything on that 2nd unit PP which is the worst in the league.

Anyways I made it clear that his current play isn’t good enough.

I think we just have a WISH version of Puljujarvi.. a guy whose tools like impressive but yet never amount to anything on the ice.

This season was a decent opportunity for him to show his wares. He’s got good tools but he’s not been able to use them in an impactful manner. Might be a good flip candidate for another team’s underperforming 24-year old — looks like he could use a change of scenery.
