My concern is if they win 2 of final 3 (unlikely) they aren’t selling

They could do a retool and still be good next season

It’s important if they move guys to get 5 weeks with Merkulov & Lysell in lineup

But if they somehow take 2 of 3 from Wild, Rangers, & Vegas they could be not selling
It would be a colossal blunder to trade assets and make a push for a WC spot. I am firmly in the sell camp. Even if they win the next 3.

I totally agree that a retool can be done relatively quickly, but they have to commit to it, and they have to stop mortgaging the future to try to squeeze in 1 more round of post-season hockey.

Shesterkin should donate his check for this game to a local New York charity.
Embarrassingly horrible.

Overall a sound game.
Not much to say as this team has the ability to lay a deuce the next game.

Anyways...off to Mazatlan Monday morning.
Timing couldn't be better as the world is about to explode economically :sarcasm:

Adios!

Yup

If a washed soon to be UFA Adam Henrique brings a first a guy with term like CC should get that, additional pick and good prospect

I’m not sure if they are going to keep him at RW and maybe that changes things

I’m a Coyle fan and I if I was with Edmonton or especially Winnipeg I’m going after him

MY centers going forward are
Zacha W/ Pastrnak
Lindholm
Poitras

Coyle & Lindholm are redundant and they aren’t trading EL

Freddy should get you a good return if he’s not signed

Can the pasta haters could
remind us their great ideas of
trade ?

I'll never understand how any Bruins fan can watch a player like Pastrnak and think "We should trade this guy, he sucks..." just because he hasn't completely dominated the score sheet for a stretch of time.

It's like if he isn't playing ppg or better people expect him to be playing like Bergeron, it's nuts.

Don't get me wrong, I want the B's to win, but not at the expense of hovering around a wildcard spot and creating delusions they're good enough to even win a round....thus forego selling.

They have the thinnest prospect pool in my 45+ years as a fan and need to think about stocking it up.

So they beat a lower seeded team with an atrocious D and brutal goaltending, yippee. Today did nothing to convince me they shouldn't be sellers.

To me it's all about speed. Rangers were not playing particularly fast and so the Bruins, with a solid work ethic, did well. When they face teams that are really motoring they make blunders, poor decisions, can't keep up and sometimes the wheels fall off and they get blown out like Buffalo and Winnipeg. Look at all the games they've lost big this year and it's pretty much all fast teams that play up tempo. Bruins can keep up for parts of those games but never for a full 60.

Poitras. You can clearly see the skill. A natural playmaker, but he also illustrates how little high end talent is on this roster. On the ice with Pasta he made perfect set up plays and they got goals. This is also the problem with these guys when we dump them on the third line with middling muckers. They need other skilled players to play with to succeed. It'll be the same with Lysell or Merkulov or anybody else. Talent needs to be on lines with other talent. It's a problem.

Also still really worried about Poitras getting hurt. These kids today just don't play the wall the way players used to and they aren't ready for the cheap hits from behind. Turned his back on the penalty and also on the set up to the goal. Same moves. He needs more awareness as he grows or he's going to get hurt.

Don't be fooled, this team needs to sell. A retool if they use cap money wisely might not take too long, but staying the course will be a big mistake.
