How often does this actually happen, though? I am trying to think of an example and I can't (though I am sure there is at least one).

In 2006 trade deadline Mark Recchi was traded by Pittsburgh to the Caroline Hurricanes who went on to win the Stanley Cup. That summer Recchi resigned with the Penquins.

How to not expect another pathetic face plant....
Last time we played the Rangers Judd, Brick and Dale kept saying "The Bruins need to go out and put pressure on the Rangers. The Rangers are a fragile team right now" (They had lost a bunch of games). Meanwhile I was shaking my head thinking that there is no team more fragile than the B's.

The B's can go out and compete closely with any opponent for most of a game and then just abruptly cave. If they get O-zone time but don't score and then suddenly give one up on an odd man rush going the other way, its usually all over. This scenario happens way too frequently, unfortunately.

Need a win here badly. The numbers are starting to turn against Boston and once they do, it's hard to flip it back.

Unlike many here I hope the Bs win today.

Hey Steve, I hope the Bruins win today.

HERE WE GO BRUINS...HERE WE GO
I do want to see the kids play and I would trade away roster players for a quicker turnaround on what has become a major lack of skill particularly amongst our forwards.

Still even if we start playing for the future, I think the team has to preach and play for every point. You make guys constantly compete for opportunity and you reward those who earn it. That is how you accelerate a retool.

So not sure who is hoping we lose, but I did want to clarify my position; I want the Bruins to win every game possible. I want to see them sneak into the back of the playoffs no matter what roster changes come. I am in no way rooting against the Bruins, but I also understand bringing in talent is expensive and bringing in young talent is even more expensive.

Think of all the impending UFAs dealt away every season. Now go back 19 years to find one example.

If Marchand is dealt, I think it’s the last we’re seeing of him in a Bruins uniform.

I watched the entire Celtics game from last night on DVR this morning.

I’d rather be watching Bruins in May and June, but at least I will have something to get into.

I watched every game, even during the 2005 through 2007 seasons. I will continue to watch, or we have the games on his background noise, even as they fall out of contention.

Much more interested in talking about the moved they make to address the roster moving forward though.

On the flipside, I’m pretty interested to see if the Rangers can make a run.

There isn’t enuf to watch right now. Pasta is fun to watch. The 30 seconds a game where Poitras has the puck on his stick. Lorhei in the o-zone. A few hits from Zadorov. Some hate watching. I dunno, it’s tough to justify over other things right now. Losing is one thing. Losing before you have some hopeful kids to watch progress is another. Sadly, even if they start trying to retool a bit it’s going to be years before any new kids come up after Lysell and Merk (if you still count him at 24).
