Post-Game Talk: GAME 53 - Winterpeg 6 BRUINS 2

I thought it was mostly fatigue ailing this D-Corps from too much time back-peddling and defending but it seems deeper than that.

Is it coaching? They play so aggressive at times and suddenly you have two Bruins D trying to do the same thing and the forwards can only provide so many layers.
They’re a fire drill in their own end.

It’s not mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time.

And it’s not just the young guys. Carlo had no business going to the wall on the 3rd goal. Zadorov was checking air on the tip in 2nd goal.

I lean towards blaming coaching but these are guys that have been around long enough not be be doing dumb shit on a nightly basis

He’s like the only big money who doesn’t have a nmc. Gibson still good and McTavidh becomes the number one center.
Why would Anaheim do this? Dostal is a stud in goal and they’re still in rebuild mode.

Everybody calm down. The Wunderwaffe Hampus is on the way. Everything will be alright.

BOSTON — Two weeks ago team president Cam Neely said the Bruins would view the approaching trade deadline down two paths. Based on how they played from then until March 7, the team would make plans to be buyers and plans to be sellers and then decide which was the more prudent path.

There’s only one path now. After blowout losses to the Sabres and Jets, there’s no argument to be made right now that the Bruins are worth investing in for the present.

Sure glad we added all that size in the off-season, even the most optimistic Bruins fans must admit this is not a good team or playoff team. The only guy I would say I would not trade is Pasta, anyone else I would trade, but has to be the right trades, not just for the sake of a trade. Many of us say the problem is coaching or the front office, but ownership is even worse, not because they won't spend $, but rather due to the fact they think Sweeney and Neely are great and refuse to clean house. Evan Gold is the only front office person I would keep and maybe Essensa the goalie coach, get rid of all the rest.

Man Donny missed on Farabee and frost decent players.
Cue the usual suspects saying they stink and any Bruin you suggest going the other way is better.

Marchand certainly packed it in tonight with that Misconduct. The rest will likely follow his lead if haven’t already.

Why wait til March get moving.
after being blessed with Bergeron and Chara for so long Marchand is looking like a Joe Thornton as captain right now.

You let DeBrusk walk and deal Ullmark.

You let some of the fringe players that performed well or in some cases over performed last year walk away as well.

You bring in Lindholm as your number one center to fill a need, and Zadorov to add some size on the blue line.

With the core you have in place, the argument is you are no worse than wildcard one, and possibly top three in the Atlantic.

So it’s either that the supporting cast is entirely miscast, or something is rotten with the core.

Which one is it?

Or is this all on the coaching? I don’t buy that.

In other words, can you run it back next year with the same core? Do you even have a choice at this point?

It's mystifying. McAvoy is just running around all out of position. Carlo's defensive play has gone to the dogs. Lohrei wasn't this bad defensively last year. None of the pairs ever seem to work. No other team has 4 D in the top 50 in giveaways. This can't just be the work of Jay Leach and Joe Sacco.

There was one play in second he went hard to the net and as it was happening I was thinking he’s not doing a snow shower to Hely is he?

He didn’t but he stopped so close he was in his space - figuratively & literally.

The Jets guys surround and Pionk has the look like the paper boy threw the newspaper in the bushes again. He’s not overly aggressive but more like ‘come on’ and Pionk not forcefully but moves in to get him away. Brad kinda throws a face shot and I feel like I know exactly what they were thinking.

He’s still very skilled but he needs to stop the antics ~ I dislike Nick Cousins as much as the next guy but you can’t go open hand to neck in a hockey game.

He’s got to get his thoughts together because he’s not playing like ironically the Winnipeg Jets play

How do you tie it up with a shorthanded goal and then give up four unanswered goals

How

Hooooooooooowwwwwwww

If you really must know, there’s always Bruins in 2

I can’t believe I’m saying this again but, hire Clode. He preaches board play. They are confused.

Clode would actually be good for this particular team right now. Wonder how he would have handled 2019 final and 2023 against the cats…
