"Can we trade this pick for an aging third line grinder?"The Boston Bruins organization could get the 1st overall pick, have the chance to pick a McDavid like talent and the first thought that would cross their mind would be: “Is he from the area?”
1st rounder for Marchy. I doubt it, but I'd take it in a NY minute.Hurts for me to say it but if someone offers a 1st for him maybe you gotta?
"Don we know EXACTLY the player to pick, off the board. Gonna blow everyone's minds when he develops in 7 years""Can we trade this pick for an aging third line grinder?"
I don't trust that GM. Can feel panic move coming.Since New Year's Eve.....
5-8-2
-14 goal differential
4 regulation wins
12 out of 30 pts. for a pts. % of .400
To put that into context, there are only two teams with a pts. % worse than .400, Chicago and San Jose. Buffalo, who smoked the Bruins two nights ago, are 30th in pts. % and theirs is .430
I think the path is pretty clear. Any thoughts of moving draft picks out for immediate help is pure lunacy. They might be picking Top 5 in the draft if January is any indication of how the rest of the season plays out. Is there any reason to think that things will improve?
Exactly there’s always worse and hey if you’re going to do it. Do it during the regular season and why not in a shitty season when your team should sell anyways. Maybe that’s all they need to get them going.Steve Smith was pretty bad
He sounds like he is having no fun at all. Think the captain thing may be weighing a bit to heavy on him. Like he thinks he is the reason they are a bad team, or this team got bad under his leadership. Really isnt his fault, but its hard to convince someone to believe that.Marchand sounds completely defeated
No way, he's so far gone for his salary. Call me crazy, but I'm OK with Zads. Sure he's underwater when comparing his salary to his stats, but he's one of the few showing any heart/emotion on this team. There is way more money mis-spent elsewhere on this roster.Lindholm has been picking up lately. Still time for to salvage his point totals.
Yea but that team had some skill. This team can barely squeeze 2 goals a game. Very sad to see. They built a 2011 style team in 2025. Its so bloody painful watching teams skate circles around the Bruins.
Trade McAvoy and Frederic and get a scoring center.
Good. Might be what they need.JT Miller would have an absolute f***ing meltdown playing on this team….
I still can’t believe the PP still hereFirst one sacco why isnt he gone tonight?
Yeah, but 2 were empty netters. The B's have scored 4 goals in the last 2 games and none of theirs were empty netters.Sacco has lost the room and there is no structure of this team it will take a miracle to turn this around . 13 goals against in 2 games.
Lohrei cannot be doing that stuff though. That said, I have seen alot of improvement in his game overall.Just needs to know when to take chances .Exactly there’s always worse and hey if you’re going to do, do it during the regular season and why not in a shitty season when your team should sell anyways. Maybe that’s all they need the get them going.
He's thinking about increasing concession prices.
Oh you sweet summer child.
They’ll get that easy and then some1st rounder for Marchy. I doubt it, but I'd take it in a NY minute.
Yeah, that'll work out well.Good. Might be what they need.
You won't get much for those 3. Those are some serious stock at all time low.Honestly, I think it's a dumb premise to identify and trade a 26/27 year old defenseman who's basically been your #1 D since he stepped on to the ice at 19. Garnered Norris votes etc. A period where the team has seen quite a bit of success. Said the same thing about Pastrnak when he was taking an enormous amount of heat early in the season. We know these players can be upper-tier players on a good-great team. It's the rest of the roster that is a concern.
I think the bigger issue is the overall construct of the team. They went all-in on the bigger, heavier, harder to play against formula. Instead, they ended up with a team that is bigger in size, but is somehow softer, less defensively aware, and struggles to compete on a nightly basis. Complete failure at the attempted response to the Florida Panthers. It actually reminds me of the Canadiens demise in response to the Bruins (which seems not so long ago).
I would start with the much too comfortable vets who are providing little to no value. ****ing sucks becaue guys like Coyle, Carlo, and Frederic have completely tanked their value from five months ago.
Well we know that is never happeningQuinn Hughes ?
Rutherford did mention the possibility, but yea I agree not a chanceWell we know that is never happening
