That is simply not true from a lot of the posters here
People envision a tank team as full of young players that are going to be part of the future, and vets you want to pump the value on. And this team will lose every game closely. That way there's hope that these kids will be better the next year but you still end up a bottom team.

But the thing is... to be a truly awful team that finishes with the best possible odds of winning the lottery, you aren't going to be losing close games. You are going to get blown out a lot and your wins will be close games. Putting young players in games where it's clear the front office doesn't want them to win is a disaster for development. Yes... getting a franchise player like a Crosby/McDavid/Bedard is more important than anyting else. But in most years tanking just means you are going to suck for awhile.

Chicago management meeting discussing total rebuild and going with youth...
Yeah let's trade 21 year old 3rd over all pick and 2 time 40 goal scorer Debrincat.
A year before they decided to rebuild they signed Seth Jones to a monster contract. This must be where Bergevin learned to be a GM.

Best game as a Hab?

They got a good asset back for Dach. Jones is still tradeable. If their goal was a bottom 3-4 finish this year, they are doing that. They are going to get a 1st line guy this year. It's better than finishing middle of the pack and trying to luck out on draft picks. If you aren't winning, you need to be losing.

And now Kane and Toews are both ailing which will impact the return they get for both.

Nazar got surgery and missed his entire year 18 season. We haven't even seen him play since he was drafted. The people hyping him have no idea
He has played 2 games this weekend. He played a lot in yesterdays game because Fantilli didn't play (presumably suspended). He apparently played well yesterday.

Well... Bummer about Xhekaj. i hope management can draw some conclusions from this... Habs need at least one more person who can fight... Ideally 3.
