yeah, okay. It's bullshit, they like Charlie on it because he makes the salary he does.

No other reason to put him in charge of the PP because of the expectation that your best and best paid defenseman should be the one doing it. And be capable of doing it too.
Why not take a forward off and put Loheri and McAvoy out there, is there rule you cannot take an underperforming forward off the PP.

Lohrei is first on the team in power play assists and 2nd in power play points (0 goals, 10 assists) only behind Pasta's 13 (6 goals, 7 assists) and they are pulling him off the PP 1 for McAvoy because of zone entries?
Right, is there any reason you can't have both out there if zone entries are your main motivation? Take Zacha or the underachieving Lindholm off the PP unit. The two of them combined have a grand total of 2 power play goals this year (same as McAvoy with his 1) and it's almost February.

Astounding they are stuck on a 4F 1D that clearly has not worked since the days of Krug.

If the 4-1 PP is not working well and you have 2 D who can create offense then why not at least try it?

The Jets can come in as overconfident as they want, if the B's play like they did against Buffalo they aren't winning anything (Unless Hampus and Charlie are back).

At least even post-Krug you could argue they had so much talent up front it justified the 4 F/1 D umbrella set-up.
I only see 3 forwards on this team really deserving of PP time. Pasta, Marchand and Geekie.

IMO the biggest reason the PP % is better with Lohrei is because he's not afraid to SHOOT
I don't know why McAvoy doesn't shoot more on the PP, but anyone who doesn't notice the improvement on the PP with Lohrei instead of C Mac hasn't been watching
..or just doesn't like Lohrei
If the team just admitted McAvoy was not, and likely never will be a PP1 QB it would make things so much easier.
Just put him in PP2. No shame in it. If he can find his form again he's still easily worth the 9+ even with the power play deficiency

At one point our highest paid dman was Chara and Krug was the PP guy. I'm not sure why our top dman HAS to be the PP QB. It would be nice, but obviously that said of the game hasn't developed as well as others for Mac.
Sacco is a terrible head coach.

Given things we have seen from this team you'd expect that Winnipeg blows them out but this team has flipped the script before and given us their best games after their worst games (Buffalo) and made everyone believe again momentarily, especially at home, so Bruins probably win this one. But really, who knows what we see.

Bang on.
McAvoy just doesn't take charge and forces way to many passes to Pasta. U can see Lohrei taking control and passing to the right spot, as well as calling his own number when its there. One of the Reasons Ovi has scored so many PP goals j.Carlson wasn't afraid to fire the puck away, keeping the goalie honest. Ray Bourque the same, with Neely. You need more than one option just to keep your opponents honest.
Hopefully McAvoy will come back with this type of attitude and his time off sitting up above may have helped him see what needs to be done in order to be successful on the PP.
