Kaliyev's got a skating deficiency but i think he gets it done with sime more ice time and is probably not much worse in the checking snd defensive parts of the game than any average third liner.
Im still trying to convince myself he's an nhl player. He damn sure has an nhl shot...

I think his defense and fundamentals are better than his reputation makes it seem. I have no problem with him and he’s definitely an nhl player. He’s never going to get the playing time he deserves because unless he’s putting up production coaches are going to treat him like something he’s not. It’s really unfortunate.

Because Lav refuses to admit that Mika is cooked and is still trying to get him going. I want Laf far away from Panarin. This is what I’d like to see.

Panarin - Miller - Kaliyev/Othmann/Berard
Cuylle - Trocheck - Lafreniere
Cryder - Meeka - Smith
Edstrom - Carrick - Rempe

Just roll with this and move Laf up if the young guys are a disaster. Otherwise, this season is lost so might as well give them a long look with talented linemates. Upgrade 1RW in the summer.
