Fk this is always the problem for the past 3 years. Now everyone uses the excuse this goaltending tandem got us 1 win away from Stanley when in reality they might of cost is possibly 2 cups by now

Most of us love the Oilers, we're die hard fans, but just because this team has some issues, it doesn't make you a hater. Skinner is a young-ish, inconsistent goalie. When he's on, he's very good, unfortunately he's had too many questionable goals, and a few too many off-nights. Will he get to the next level, become more consistent, and grow into a true number 1? who knows, maybe. For now, he's a 2.6 million goalie, and he's more than worth that $$$. One thing, we should all agree on, Skinner will have to be at his best, for this team to win with him, this year, as a whole, has not been good enough.


Bouchard WAS GREAT last year, an amazing year, based off last season, he's a 10 million dollar D man. This year, he's not been very good, way too many give aways, not smooth with the puck like he was. Missing the net, not getting shots through, etc. Young D often go through peaks and valleys, let's hope this is just a valley, and he comes back to where he was.

For the most part, this has been a GREAT season so far, and most of us can agree that this team is not firing at all cylinders right now. Many guys are capable of more, when they get it going, they will be even better.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows and it's also not all doom and gloom. This is a good team, with a few issues, I believe they can and will get it together. It's never as bad as it seems, or as good as we remember, but I do feel this team is way more good, than it is bad.

PS - when i started this, it was 4 to 1, now it's 4-3.

The issue with the team is the same as it's always been, consistency. You don't have to be the best team in the world for 60 minutes, you just have to not flop between top 5 and bottom 5 every period.

Skinner isn't an awful goalie, he just ranges too far between 0.940 and 0.800, if he's playing as well as he can, you can pretty easily win a cup with him. But getting Skinner to play as well as he can 4/7 games in a row is a f***ing coinflip. Same is also true for the skaters, Bouch, Nurse, Drai, et al, will make 20 good plays, but then they make 5 downright awful ones and we get scored on three times.

There's too much parity in the game, you can't be feast or famine, you have to just show up the same way all the time.
