A beatdown has been due for a while. The Oilers have been trash last ~4 games, just the dregs of the league like SEA, BUF, DET are too shit to do anything.

I knooow. it sucks.

that's why I was hoping for a beatdown in the other direction to turn the tide. Ain't happening.

The Oilers outplay the other team early. Skinner lets in 3 goals on 10 shots. The team struggles thereafter. I've seen this one too many times.

The Skinner apologiests will say "but after the bad start he bounced back really well."

How many times have we seen these performances?

Pretty sure the Oilers have a large negative goal split in the first. Tracks with team slow starts and usually unprepared goaltending

Oilers need to score a couple in the 2nd. Skinner has these awful starts so often, but he also tends to lock in afterwards.

I don't think he'd offer a single criticism of Skinner for a cool million bucks.

There seems to be some directive in the media to take it easy on goalies. It gives me hope that maybe the GM is looking at goalie options but the media don't dare report on it or even speculate

People usually play great after a child is born. Skinner got worse.

Skinner isn't controlling his rebounds, the defense is letting players have all the time in the world with the puck on the rebounds, and forwards look like scoring is a foreign concept they haven't quite figured out yet.

Games like this are proof that Skinner’s so called good stats are a product of the Oilers strong defensive system. On a night like tonight where the teams best defenseman is out of the lineup and the team is trying to break in another defenseman who hasn’t played in a year and a half Skinner can’t stop a beach ball and looks like he’s in panic mode every time the puck is in the Oilers end. He’s let in a weak wrist shot and coughed up the puck on two weak shots he should have been able to control the rebound and stop the play. It’s an embarrassing result from a guy who can’t step up on a rare night that his team needs him. He’s a joke, pretending he’s something else isn’t helping this team.
