I don’t think it will. The goons are almost all extinct. The staged fights are almost non existent. Fighting is far less frequent than it was a decade ago. I think that was the goal.

With the UFC becoming as popular as it is, I don’t see an appetite to downright banning fighting in hockey.
Not going to speak on whether fighting will or will not remain in hockey... just responding to the UFC point.

Remember, UFC fights are sanctioned by a state athletic commission. They are regulated with things like weight classes and booking "somewhat" equivalent opponents. Any argument for fighting in hockey can't be based on MMA because of those rules and regulated facotrs.
