Laine - Dach - Newhook is not the line tbh. Laine can't drive his line and Dach is an offensive blackhole, Newhook is good but he would need to be "the dude" on that line which is a bit too much to ask imo. Put Laine in line with Suzuki before everyone, including MTL fans will start sayin Laine sucks because he can't score 5v5.

Newhook won’t be there next year. Demidov is coming. Roy (hopefully) is coming, Laine will be healthy…

We have so much talent on the way.

Don't think they will go back in tank mode. They are just in a bad sequence. From december 15th to january 15th they were 1st in the NHL with a 10-2-1 record and a P% of 808. No other team did better in that sequence. That was not sustainable. They were heading head first in a bad sequence.

I never said it was two first, I used the word almost.

Newhook was not that good, the vast majority of the Avs board was happy after that trade.

Good chance that trade won’t work out. He was good last year but he’s been so disappointing this season. Part of that is the circumstances but he’s had no finish.

That’s alright though. Some players aren’t going to pan out. He’s better suited as a third line offensive player. Maybe he finds his game but if not it’s not the end of the world.

I’m still good with those kinds of trades. Not all will work out but that’s fine.
