The oilers don't need to go shopping in the bargain bin for goalies. He's a mediocre goaltender and there is no reason to be relying on him.

Maybe he'll be be good when he's 30, but the oilers can't wait until then.

Who said stats don't matter?

Posting a save percentage immediately after a goal skews the data, and only used by people who either don't understand the stat or want to mislead people. If you want to adjust every goalie's % to only be recorded as of the last goal they let in during a game, have at 'er.
 
Were winning the special teams right now so I can't complain about the PP or PK.

Penalties have been 3 - 1 for the Oilers. So not really on the refs.

Expected goals 5v5 are 2.08 for Edmonton to 1.66 for Detroit.

Honesty it should be a 3-2 game for the Oilers right now but we aren't burying our chances.

Jeff Skinner was the only one to score 5v5. Hyman, McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard, etc need to finish.

Defensively just way too sloppy. 14 giveaways against a poor wings team isn't going to cut it. Ekholm alone with 5 giveaways. This dude should be at home sleeping and drinking cough medicine.

dylan larkin isnt top end talent? they have 3 20 goal scorers and Patrick kane. 25 goals makes you a top 10 scorer in the league right now FWIW. I think Oilers fans get spoiled by generational talent and it makes them jaded to top end talent.

they have 3 guys that could be our 2nd best goalscorer (well, 1 of them only has 20 to mcdavids 21 but its close.)

Some people are incapable of acknowledging that some goals he lets in are bad defense or just good plays.

Not even a Skinner booster, but it does grow tiresome. At least save the criticism for the bad ones, like the Matt Roy goal against in the WSH game. That was brutal.

Save percentage was used to show how good Skinner was for a whopping month, but now that it points out how mediocre he is, it's suddenly useless and a waste of time.

The kid is an inconsistent goalie, it's that simple. Hopefully management sees what every other media outlet in the league sees and finally admits he's the weakest link on this team.

I dunno. The game I'm seeing looks like the Oilers are having massive Ozone edge. Wings barely have the puck in our end in this one. When Wings have had chances lots of shooting wide.

Skinner has made 3 quality stops in the whole game. One blocker, One lucky off shaft of stick, and one on the breakaway. Detroit haven't done much and all they're bringing is the counter. This looks like the McLellan version LA Kings. Except worse.

the game is tied because the best PP ever at one time can't score

not because Skinner gave up 2 goals
