You don't have to be good to be sabotaged.
If everyone else got hurt, AV would have suited up himself before he played Etem. That's sabotage.
We're at the point where we have to have no other options before Gauthier sees the ice. What does that have to do with how good he ends up being as a player?

I know it is popular to shit on Quinn and Kreider, but Kreider would not be missing a game this important absent serious injury. The “maintenance” quote from Quinn will rightfully draw questions but the club is likely just protecting Kreider from having to disclose the nature of his injury.

Etem, Nieves and now Gauthier, peoples irrational love for marginal players continues. Can't believe we waste so much time complaining about guys that don't move the needle in any aspect of hockey game. If Gauthier wants to be a regular nhl'er he needs to learn to play defense and to pk, if he was good at either one he'd have a spot.

Kreider took a practice off around the time he started to slide so its obviously been something nagging him for a while. I just don't know why you play him so much if he's hurting.

The worst on a top 5 pk doesnt mean hes bad, he's still a good pk guy. Gauthier isn't near as good as you feel he is, him, Howden, PDG are all on the same level. He isn't the next coming of Kreider.
